Chapter 35 Korrin hadn’t wanted to leave Kris alone in the wagon. He hadn’t wanted his goodbye to be like that, but there was no other way. He knew that she wouldn’t let him go after Ruslo alone, and he couldn’t risk her coming with him. And he didn’t have any time to spare: if he didn’t find Ruslo sometime during the night, or early morning, then the Council would rule against him. He’d be executed. If Tawni didn’t get Kris out, she would probably be executed, too. And if she wasn’t, then Ruslo would hunt her down and kill her himself.
