Chapter 36
“Where are they taking him?”
Beside her, Tawni shook her head. She didn’t know. Kris watched in horror as two men hauled Korrin out of the watchtower and took him past a row of stones, then tore his shirt off. From this distance, Kris couldn’t make out which Shifter was Ruslo, but it quickly became apparent. One of the Shifters was changing in front of her eyes.
“Ruslo.”
“What are we going to do?”
“Go home, Tawni,” Kris ordered. Without waiting for an answer, she was moving out from behind the tree they were standing behind. She was moving quickly, but staying low, most of her form hidden by weeds. She made it to the wall undetected: the rest of the Shifters were focused on the impending fight.
