Naomi “You are the one that wanted him to stay,” Alastair remarked softly as he rubbed my back. I had been crying for the past hour, but I was so tired that all I wanted to do was sleep. After I had ranted and raved, I felt as if I had no more anger left. “I know,” I answered as I rolled over and looked at him. “But I think…I think a part of me…” I didn’t want to say the words. I barely wanted to acknowledge the truth. “I know, baby, I know,” Alastair said before he leaned in and pressed his lips against my forehead.
