Erik “Talk to me, Erik, I’ll listen,” Naomi encouraged softly. I nodded, and her gaze dropped as she picked up her fork and spoon. It was strange seeing her in a black silky shirt and a black pair of dress pants. I liked her in worn jeans and a flannel shirt. I shook my head, as I tried to gather my thoughts. I had a lot to say, and she was willing to listen. “I love you,” I blurted. She dropped the fork, and it clattered onto the glass dining table. I quickly jumped up and hurriedly grabbed the fork to hand it back to her. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to just blurt it out like that,” I apologized.
