The Rats Revolt Washington, D. C., November 2029 Two days went by with nothing to show for the time spent. On the third day, Ginesh got in early and walked over to Chaz's cage. He was about to say “good morning” to Chaz when he noticed something dripping from the cage. He increased his pace, then examined the liquid leaking from the floor of the pen. It was blood. "What the hell?" Ginesh said. Then he looked closer and saw that the rat who shared the cage with Chaz was dead—and not just dead, but its body had been ripped apart, pieces of skin strewn about the cage. Instinctively, he wanted to reach in and pull the dead rat out, but then a sensation from his lip reminded him of what happened when Chaz had bitten him.
