The Shadow

Alledandro Ricci, a name feared by the population of the underground world, a name said to drive terror into the heart of men.

The Shadow, as many may call him, is the overlord of the underworld, brutal to the core, won't think twice to lay an opponent to eternal rest.

And today, the man was on his way to the underworld auction house. The auction house was said to be a place where anything could be bought and sold, ranging from illegal goods to human slaves.

After the previous night, when Alledandro had to deal with the issue of his diamond, he decided to go to the auction house to purchase a few more diamonds since his business partners couldn't be kept waiting.

“Sir, we will be arriving at the auction house in a few minutes," Mike conveyed through the driver's seat. “Alright, have all security protocols on high alert till after the purchase. I wouldn't want the cops ruining this deal today,” Shadow spoke.

“All security protocols stay sharp, we are in,” Mike communicated through the radio. A few minutes later, they were in the vicinity of an underground club. Mike and another person came down and opened the door for Alledandro. Together, they walked into the club.

At the entrance, a man in a butler's suit and an elderly appearance bowed respectfully,” I greet the Shadow.” Please follow me. Alledandro and the crew follow him to the back of the club, then down an underground basement, stopping before a door.

Immediately the door was opened, Alledandro and his crew's faces turned cold as an Aura of dominance leaked from him.

They walked calmly into the room, it wasn't even right to call it a room. A spacious hall that could accommodate up to 800 people, but currently, there are not more than 15 groups here.

Each group was a representative of other underworld organizations, so Alledandro's aura of dominance leaked out, to show them all that he was at the top of the food chain here.

“Yo..your booth is right this way, sir,” A maid, fidgeting, directed them to the front section of the hall where an exquisite table was set up.” Please bear with us sir, we will start the auction shortly.”

“What nonsense? Why would he bypass all of us here and be directed to the forefront”? A loud voice stopped Alledandro, who was about to sit down.

Alledandro turned slowly to the direction the voice came from, eyes leaking nothing but bloodlust, he noticed the one who had spoken earlier was Chris, the wayward and prideful son of Raphaelo, the leader of a rival gang known as the Usurpers.

“How can he just bypass all of us without even showing any signs of acknowledgment? It's insulting, we are..””

Whack, a powerful slap cut Chris's words short. What surprised him more was who slapped him, his father.

But Father," Whack, another powerful slap silenced him again,

“Sir Shadow, please forgive my negligence in raising my son. He doesn't know when to speak and when not to. I hope you let this matter slide.”

He looked at the father and son from the elevated stand at his table, not saying anything, then a devilish grin stretched on his face.

“Well, since it's your negligence for not training him to respect elders when due, allow me the honor of doing just that,” Shadow waved at Mike.

Mike then took unhurried steps towards Chris, folding his sleeves up when he was close enough.

Mike continued slapping Chris relentlessly. Chris tried calling his father for help, but his father turned a blind eye, not wishing to earn the ire of the Shadow.

Only the resounding slap echoed till the host of the auction announced,” The auction will be starting now.”

Only then did Mike stop his pummeling, then walked back to their table and sat down, leaving Chris a rough and bloody mess, his face swollen and bruised by the constant slapping while he seemed to have passed out.
