Chapter 4

1529 Words
Sarah didn’t feel better about her daughter being in the care of Angels. She knew her guards were going to be up until Dremis and Marcus were dead. She didn’t want to wait around to try and kill them. She wanted them dead now,                     “Sarah,” Carlos said touching her arm. “She will be okay.”                         Sarah stared at him for a long time before she spoke. “I don’t know if they can keep her safe, I need to kill this demon now.” She said before disappearing.                         Sarah reappeared in Dremis’ world. She wanted his blood.                         “Back so soon?” Dremis appeared a few feet from her. “You think my magic was done, but I could still read your thoughts. You are right to doubt the angels protecting her. I may not get her for a while, but she is going to be coming to look for you.” He said taking a step towards her.                     “I am not worried about her.” She said looking behind her, two other demons appeared she didn’t know who they were. She knew they were going to ambush her, she had to be ready, “I see you didn’t come here unprepared. You afraid to lose to me Dremis?” she said looking at him.                 “No,” he said laughing at her. “I just know you have tricks, but on my realm my rules.” He said trying to grab her arm, but she pulled it away just in time. “I see you are on edge; I like that.” He said smiling at her.                     “Don’t make your death slow.” She challenged. “I came to end you.” She said summoning her magic, but Marcus grabbed her from behind, threatening her with a dagger. “Like I said you are afraid of me!” she growled.                     “I am not afraid of you.” He said putting his hand on her throat but didn’t tighten it. “I know your aim sucks, allow me to train you. You will become great.” He said moving his fingers along her jawline. “Your blood is tainted with mine; you might as well accept it.”                     “No,” she said with tears in her eyes. “You cannot convince me to be bad.” She said shaking her head. “My line will be the reason you are no more.”                 “Maybe, but where does that leave you?” he said turning his back to her. “I am surprised the angels and Carlos allowed you to come here unprepared.”                     “Like they could stop me.” She laughed at him.                     “They could have stopped you if they cared about you.” He laughed. “They have your heir, there is no need to protect you anymore.” He said looking at Marcus. “Prepare her.” He said disappearing. “Are you going to make this hard for you Sarah?” Marcus whispered in her ear.                 “You think, I am doing this willingly?” she growled, she elbowed him in the stomach, she pushed herself away from him. “Come on let’s play a game, come and find me.” She said disappearing. Sarah didn’t know where she could go, so she went back to Carlos, he was talking to someone. When he saw her, he relaxed a little?                        “Are you alright?” he said walking closer to her. “Dremis is on the warpath, whatever happened when you were with him, he’s pissed.” He said hugging her. “I am glad that he hasn’t hurt you.”                     “He cannot hurt me.” She said looking at him. “I will destroy him one way or another.” She said walking past him. She wasn’t sure what she would do, but she had to learn this language all over again. The book was still gone, she wondered if Dremis was going to use it as a trap for her. Even if he did, when she had the book, he wouldn’t be able to contain her.                 “Where are you going?” Carlos asked as he caught up to her.                 “I need to find my book.” She said looking at him. “Once I remember everything in that book and what my mother taught me, the better I will be prepared to killing the demon.” She said continuing to walk. She wasn’t sure where she would go, she was safe for now. Dremis would come at her again, she had to be prepared for his tricks.                     “You don’t have to do this alone.” He said grabbing her arm. “Your daughter is safe, let’s get a plan going so we can do this without you getting hurt.”                     “Dremis isn’t going to hurt me.” She said pulling her arm away from him. “I just need you to make sure my daughter stays safe; I will deal with Dremis myself.” She said walking away from him. She wanted his help, but she didn’t want to worry about protecting him too. She knew Dremis was going to come after her daughter it was only a matter of time. She had to be ready, she wanted to be ready.                     Sarah wasn’t sure where a safe place for her and her daughter would be. She would have to keep moving them from different realms and hope there was no essence left of them on that realm, she didn’t want to put anyone else at risk, but she knew going to other worlds would only be a matter of time before Dremis took that realm, so it would be one less realm for her to turn to.                     She stopped near a window, closed her eyes, and went to another realm that she felt she would be safe for a while. She wanted to check it out before asking the Angels to bring her daughter there.                     “Where are you going?” Carlos said appearing.                         “How did you find me?” She said looking a little worried he was standing in front of her.                         “The Angels bound us together before Dremis did it to you.” He said taking a little step closer to her. “I also know you are looking for a safer place for you and your Daughter. You do realize Dremis can go almost anywhere you can?”                     “Yeah.” She said tucking her hair behind her head. “I figured that out when he disappeared expected me to hurt his friend.” She said closing her eyes. “I don’t think he is here; I cannot feel him anyways.”                        “He’s not,” Carlos said. “Please stay with me, so at least I can help you, or at least try to.” He said reaching out her hand.                         Sarah looked at his hand, and then him. “I don’t know if you will be safe if you stay around us.” She said shaking her head. “I don’t want you to get hurt because of me.”                     “I am one of many that are going to protect you and your line.” He said taking a step closer to her. He didn’t want her running away from him. He wanted her to trust him, he had to slowly get her attention on him and off Dremis for a while. “Please trust me.”                     “I don’t know.” She said shaking her head. “This is all new to me, my mother was killed by                     Dremis.” She said looking down at her feet. “This battle is going to be between me and him, I am going to be the one that ends him.”                     “Well, why don’t you let me help you. I can get us better spells, weapons, and things we’ll need to take him on.”                    “Isn’t that sweet?” Dremis appeared with others. “You know since you think you are tough Sarah, why don’t we see how tough you are.”                     “Oh, I don’t have to prove anything to you.” She growled. “You know my magic is stronger than yours.”                     Dremis summoned magic, Sarah countered with a shield.                     “I told you.” She growled. Her eyes turned white, she summoned her magic, this time she hit all the demons, the magic force was strong enough she didn’t have to throw it at anyone.                     Dremis stood there, he didn’t get hurt by it, but his friends were all down. “Impressive little witch. So, you are learning yourself. This is going to be fun.” He said disappearing.
