Chapter 4

It has been days ever since the incident, finally Amelia open her eyes to see her family was sitting around her.

“Hi!!” she said softly. Mike, Dan and Alyssa heard her voice quickly went to her.

“My baby!” cried Mike as he kisses her forehead. Dan and Alyssa felt relief that their baby sister is finally awake.

“Oh...please guys stop crying already!!” said Amelia who felt bad to make them very worry.

“No more party for you young lady!!” joked Dan which make them laugh.

“I’m sorry to have disturb you!” all of them looked at the person who just said that.

“Sir Stamford?” said Mike who was surprise to see his client in front of him with a teenage boy by his side.

“I am here to apologize about what happen to your daughter. “said Sir Stamford whom was so disappointed with his son behavior.

“Father like I said it was not my plan!” said his son to his father.

“Then what was your plan then?” question Dan while Edward looked away guilty.

“I don’t know what my daughter did to your son and his friends to be treated like this?” question Mike to Sir Stanford who was trying to calm himself down as he was super disappointed when he got to know what Edward and his friend did at the party. He could not have imagine that his son his one and only son would do something son despicable like bulling.

“Dad!!!” said Amelia trying to calm her father down too.

“I am speechless Edward, for the first time in my life I’m speechless. How could you do that to her or even to anyone?” said Sir Stanford furious.

“I’m fine sir anyways I am not pressing this matter further.” Said Amelia trying to make the aura in the room less tense.

“It not alright Amelia!!!” shouted Dan.

“My sister being bully in school and suffer in the closet. If we did not save her she would not made it. How can you being alright Amelia when you were facing death? How can we continue our life if anything happen to you? And how can he live his life as if nothing happen? No…man I am not getting like go!” claim Dan angrily.

“Dan!!!” said Amelia trying to calm her brother down.

“No he will not live as nothing happen.” Said Sir Stanford as he look at his son before looking at Amelia and her family.

“From today onward I am sending my son to you Mr. Cooper.” Said Sir Stamford, Everyone there looked at each other shocked to hear Sir Stanford decision and does not understand what he meant by that.

“Edward my son has been brought up by money and I did not do anything to make him human. From today onward I am giving my son to you he will not take anything from the palace or me, not one single cent. Amelia I really hope you would guide my so to be a better person.” Said Sir Stanford with his eyes sincerely looking at her hoping in his heart that the decision he make is the best for Edward.

“Father are you out of your mind?” shouted Edwards as he looked at his father furious for making decision without consulting him first.

“It’s not me that is out of my mind but you! You went too far this time Edward and if I could not make a better human being out of you now, I would not be able to save you in the future. From this day on, you be staying with Mr. Cooper and his family. You will be on your own I will not provide you with anything. All your money or asset will be froze till you are capable to know what life is!”

“Father how could you do this to me, I am the future candidate for the Prince of Geneva? You can’t do this to me?” rebel Edward protest with his father decision.

“Can a candidate act as a bully in school or hurt anyone? How can a bully run a country without knowing the emotion of its people?” said Sir Stanford making Edward speechless. Sir Stanford look at Mike and says,

“I apologize for giving you a huge responsibly to your family and you, I would really appreciate if you take him in and teach him how to be a better person.” Mike looked at his children not sure if he could accept Sir Stanford offer to care for his teenage son. He looked at Amelia who was looking directly at him and nodding his head to take that offer.

“Alright but I will not guarantee that he will change.” Said Mike to make sure that Sir Stanford understand that to change his son need to do it himself not matter how much he help.

“I understand but I really hope he will. I will not disturb you any further I will send him to your house tonight.” Said Sir Stanford again before leaving the ward, Edward follow his father again try to convince him to take back what he had just said to Mike and his family but Sir Stanford still stand by still decision.

The first week when Edward stays with Mike family, Mike was having a hard time with Edward as he refuses to listen to him. He did not want anyone to tell him what to do he even refuse to speak to anyone in the house making hard for everyone to communicate with him. He locks himself in his room and refuse to go out and since he does not have any money he could not go out. He tries to get a hold of his so called friend but they either reject his call or block his number. After breakfast everyone was getting ready for school, Since Edward has not been going to school for the pass week and got bored not doing anything he decided to go to school even if he does not have any money and he is super hungry as he has not been eating ever since he arrived.

Edward walked into the kitchen right after he peek and saw there was no on in the kitchen. He start to ransack the fridge, he took a sandwich was left in the fridge and start eating it in 1 go before looking for something else. While he was ransacking the fridges, he did not realize that Mike was standing near the kitchen entrance and looking at him. Mike saw how hungry he was and how he swallows food, he walks over to the large island in the kitchen where there is a jug of plain water and glasses. Mike pours him a glass of water and pass it to Edward who just took is as he already felt like choking. Once Edward felt that okay, he turns to Mike and froze.

“You alright there buddy?” said Mike. Edward places the glass on the table, slam the fridge door close and walk out of the kitchen. Mike wanted to pass him some lunch money as he knows that Edward does not have any money and since he’s going to school Mike did not want him to go hungry.

“Dad…I’ll pass to him.” Said Amelia who know that her father try to give him some money.

“Thank you.” Said Mike as he kiss her daughter forehead as he pass her the money before Amelia walk out of the house to go to school.

Amelia was walking to her first period when Edward and his friend were having a disagreement which was quiet loud.

“How dare you to kick me out of my own group? This is my group I made it!!” demand Edward.

“Well it’s not me who create the rules Edward, the group only consist of people with power and since you been kick out by your father and currently you are penniless, according to the rules of the group you are no longer in power!” claim Max who have long to have his position and to be known as the leader of the school.

“But I am still…” before Edward could say anything Max cut in and says,

“What…the prince candidate for Geneva? For what I can remember they rejected you!” Edward became speechless, how could his friends do that to him? John saw how tense the situation became, he start to pulls Max away from there before they start to fight.

“Max let’s go we’ll be late for class.” Said John as he pull Max to class. John felt bad that they did not want Edward to become their leader anymore but since he has no say in that decision since the majority vote for Max.

Edward did not feel like going to class right after the confrontation with Max. His life has turned upside down ever since that party he went at Clara apartment. He should not have gone to the damn party if he knows all this going to happen. He looks up at the sky thinking that now he has no money, no friends, no home and no family what is he going to do now? He then hears his stomach started growling, he did eat the sandwich early but he still hungry. As he was sitting there with his huge ego allowing his empty stomach growling a pack of sandwich was being push towards him. He swallows his saliva and wanted to take the sandwich but as he look up he saw Amelia was the one who have given him the sandwich. He immediately pushes the sandwich away and looked away from Amelia.

“I am sorry that thing happen this way.” said Amelia as she felt bad towards Edward.

“I know you don’t like me and all but I hope you can accept this!” said Amelia again.

“I don’t need it and most of all I don’t need your family or your sympathy!” shouted Edward who blame her for his current situation.

“Fine at least eat something before you faint.” Replied Amelia as she stood up and walk away not wanted to disturb Edward. After Amelia left, he looked at the sandwich which was tempting to him.

“It not the sandwich faults!! Edward!!” he said himself. He took the sandwich and opens it when he saw some money being roll up next to the sandwich. He immediately stood up and follows Amelia frustrated with the money he saw.

Amelia went down to the basement where they kept some of the science equipment. Amelia walk down the staircase Ms. Catherine had kept more beakers for storage. Once Amelia got to the basement, she starts to look for boxes of breaker. While she was looking for the beaker she heard someone was walking down the stair, she turn around and saw Edward was walking down. When Edward got near her he took her hand and slam the sandwich of packet to her palm and says,

“I told you I don’t need it!!” As Edward turn around and walk away, the ground start to shake. All the boxes start to fall down, Amelia and Edward nearly fall down and the next moment a hidden pole that support the basement fall down and hit Edward leg. Amelia saw that the pole fall onto Edward, she run to him and try to move the pole but the pole is very heavy while Edward shouted in pain. Amelia again tries to push the pole away from Edward but once again fail. Suddenly they could hear loud rumbling sound, sound like the whole place was about to collapse, Edward looks at Amelia who is trying her best to free Edward. Edward looks at Amelia and pushes her away and shouted,

“Go…get out of here!” But Amelia ignored him and tried to push the pole away again. Edward again pushes her aside and shouted,

“Get out not!! The basement going to fall soon!!!” but Amelia were still stubborn and refuse to get out from there.

“What wrong with you? The pole if too heavy for you to carry … get out before it collapse! I’m not worth it…so go…GO NOW!!” Edward screams at her.

“I WOULD..NOT GIVE YOU UP!!!I WILL SAFE YOU EVEN IF IT COST ME MY LIFE!!!SO SHUT THE f**k UP!!!” shouted Amelia and finally she manages to get the pole off Edward legs. Edward looks at her taken aback to see how Amelia could push the big pole away from his leg and no one had ever want to risk their life for him. Amelia quickly helps him up and they quickly walk up to the basement and once out they saw the teachers and the head mistress were running toward them, Amelia slowly put Edward down. When the teacher reaches them, they saw Edward was injured and Mr. Aaron start to dial the ambulance number.

Mike dash into Edward ward where Edward had already been treated by the doctors while Amelia stand by his side thought out the treatment.

“Are you guys ok?” said Mike as he walks over to Amelia and hug her.

“Don’t worry we are fine.” said Amelia.

“Edward are you alright?” said Mike as he left Amelia go and walk to Edward side.

“I ok.” Reply Edward softly.

“That good, I have already called you father about this but he is unable to get back because he stuck in Los Vegas.” Said Mike but Edward nods his head as he has already expected his father would not come and visit him.

“Sorry but I need his parents or guardian to fill some forms.” said a nurse. Mike then excuse himself and follow the nurse while Amelia sat at a chair beside the bed.

“Um…the school said that the school basement was old and they did not check it properly that they did not notice that there were a crack at the wall.” Said Amelia who felt that she need to said something as it was getting awkward. Edward did not know what to say to Amelia right after what she told him at the basement ever since then he could not stop thinking about it. Amelia saw that the jug was empty, she stood up walk over and take the jug to be refill.

“I’ll go and refill this.” Said Amelia as she walk out of the ward.

“Why did want to save my life so badly?” said Edward suddenly. Amelia stop at her track, turn around and says,

“Because to me you are special and precious who has enter my life, everyone I know or met is someone special to me and I will do anything to protect you and them even if you hate me so much but I will protect you with my life.” Edward look at her speechless, he did not expect someone who care for him so much and tell him how precious his life is till today even when he is a spoil troublesome brat who is a trouble maker in his father eyes.
