Chapter 5

Catherine enters the math classroom, saw everyone was looking at her laughing at her. She immediately looks at herself and instantly she knows why all of them laughing at. She try to ignore and sat down at her desk while looking down even when she ignore them they still laughing at her. Ever since she got transfer from her old school last year, she has been laugh at. Even at her old school everyone would laugh at her because she fat. She tries to ignore it but she can’t, at home her family would nag at her because at her weight. Her tear start to fall, she did not want to hear anyone making fun of her anymore. She stood up and dash out of the class. In her head she still heard everyone around her laughing at her and calling her names.

While running she did not even notice she has hit someone down. She run up to the staircase wanted to end her life. It has been years that she has been hearing people calling her names and now she wants to make it stop. Catherine finally got up to the roof; she opens the door and went to the edges of the parapet. She went up and look down she wanted to jump when she heard someone call her from behind. She saw a plus size girl who looks like her breathless as she got out from the staircase looking at her worried.

Amelia and Edward were walking towards Chemistry class, since both of them went to the same class. Ever since the incident, Edward has started being nice toward Amelia and her family they even got very close. While they were walking to the class, suddenly someone accidentally bangs into Amelia.

“Are you alright?” said Edward as he check her if she got hurt.

“I am fine.” Replied Amelia but her eyes kept looking at the girl who had banged her earlier. She suddenly got a heavy feeling that the girl might do something stupid to herself. Amelia starts to run after leaving Edward at the back.

“Amelia where are you going?” shouted Edward but Amelia did not stop. Edward had no choice but to chase after her. They follow her up to the roof, once Amelia opens the door, they saw the girl were standing at the edge of the parapet and wanting to commit suicide.

“Stop!!” shouted Amelia breathless after climbing up the stair which was never her favorite part.

“Don’t come any closer or I’ll jump!” she threatens. Amelia tries to walk to her again but Edward suddenly pulls Amelia to stop her from walking towards her. Amelia then pulls her hand back and walks slowly towards the girl and says,

“Let's talk but you need to come down from there!”

“Amelia what are you doing?” whisper Edward as he did not want the girl to hurt her but Amelia did not listen to him.

“I don't know what happen to you but let me help you!” said Amelia again.

“How can you help me? I don't even know you! So go!!!” shouted the girl.

“I really want to help…let me help you!” said Amelia calmly but the girl refuses to listen and turn around. Amelia walks to the other end of the edge and get up to that parapet. The girl saw what Amelia did and shouted,

“What are you doing? Don't come near me or I jump!!”

“Then jump…I jump with you!" suggest Amelia who has no fear what so ever about jumping down from the building.

“What!!!”

“Yah…if you want to jump so much then let’s jump together, I’ll keep you company.” suggested Amelia.

“What are you talking about? You’re crazy!!” Amelia walk to her slowly and says,

“Why do you want to die so much?” question Amelia.

“I don’t want to like this…why must I looked like this? Everyone laugh at me because I’m fat and I hate myself because of it!”

“So…so what if you are fat and people are laughing at you? So what if they laugh at you because you are fat? Is being thin and beautiful so important? Why does someone opinion is some important to you who are the one whose is living this life?” when Catherine heard that she froze, she never thought about that. Amelia got closer to her and manages to hold her hand and says,

“If you die now…those people who laugh at you will said that you are weak, they will said that you are a loser who give up easily. They will not change till you help them to change their way of thinking about fat people.”

“I...I…never thought about that!!! I'm so sorry!!" sobbed Catherine her face was already full of tears.

“Come on let’s get you off this!” said Amelia as they get down from the parapet.

Clara, Nia, Kelly and Susan walk out of the washroom to go their class, as they were walking to their class they saw Edwards and Amelia was walking together being very friendly.

“It seems that they are together?” said Kelly. Clara looks at them with anger in her eyes.

“Why do you still hoping for him when he’s just a no body now? Even his father did not want him anymore!” said Jasmin. Clara kept looking at them sharp; she still did not like anymore being too close with Edward. She has fallen head to for him since elementary school. Only she could have him and no else should.

“Clara stops it already! He is not the only guy in school who is that handsome and rich forget him he’s nothing now.” When Clara heard that she turns and says,

“You guys know nothing so shut the f**k up!!!” Clara turns around and storm to the next class. Nia, Kelly and Susan is stun by Clara reaction and look at each other speechless.

After a long day at school, Amelia and Edward enter the kitchen to see Mike has already prepared dinner while Alyssa and Dan were helping to set the table.

“How's school?” asked Mike.

“Alright!”replied Amelia while she hugs her father. They put their bags away and sat at the dining room. Once sat down, they pray and start dinner. While they were eating, they talk about their day was till Edward says,

“I think it's time for me to look for a part time job and a place of my own!” when he said that everyone looks at him shock for his sudden decision.

“My father sends me here for a reason and I want to proof to him that without his money I could do it on my own. I am thankful that you guys have taken me in even when I was a brat but I really think it’s time for me to be an independent for my own life.” Said Edward again, suddenly Amelia walk up and left the table without saying anything.

“You better look at her.” said Dan as he knows that Amelia is sad about sudden decision to have his own place. Edward agreed and hurries up to her room.

Once he reached her room, he knocks the door but Amelia did not answer. He then opens the door and saw Amelia were doing her homework at her study table. He walks in close the door and says,

“Are you angry?” he asked. Ever since he got closer to Amelia, he became a change person. He finds life was easy even without his father fortunes. He laughs more smiles more his heart does not felt lonely or empty anymore. Slowly Amelia had capture his heart, for the first time ever this unknown feeling for wanted her by his side had appear inside his heart making him not sure if she felt the same. He knows that his sudden decision to have his own place was sudden but he want to show to his father he can do it on his own and to show himself that one day when she became his, he know that he can take care of her for the rest of their life. Amelia shake her head while continue to do her homework.

“I’m sorry but it just I want to be independent. I don’t want to trouble your family and you anymore. I…” before he can finish want he wanted to say Amelia turn around and pull him to sit at her bed. She pulls her chair and sat in front of him and says,

“I am not angry and actually glad that you wanted to be independent!”

“Then why the expression?”

“I’m not good with goodbye with the people I love.” Said Amelia as she looked down, Edward pulls Amelia hands and says,

“Amelia all my life I never had to do anything to get what I want, I want to do it so that I can proof to my father that I can be a good person and I want to show to you too that I…I can do it on my own.” Amelia look at him, both of their eyes met and made her heart beat very fast. Amelia quickly look down and says,

“I understand I will cheer for you!!” Amelia looks up and smile at him, she has never like good byes it always break her heart since that what Edwards want she could only hope for the best for him and cheer him on at the side.

Sir Stanford walks into Edward room, he missed his son so much. It hurt him to said what he said at the hospital but that was the only way to make Edward be independent and grow up. Lucian walks into the room and says,

“Sorry to disturb you sir!”

“Any news?”

“I have received a message from Mr. Cooper said that young sir is planning to move out and is looking for a part time job.” When Sir Stanford heard that his heart felt lifted, finally Edward started to change. Sir Stanford just nod his head and look at his watch and saw that is was going to be watch in the evening. He turns to Lucian and says,

“You can go and rest, I’ll see you tomorrow.” Sir Stanford walks out of the room leaving Lucian stun at Sir Stanford asking him to rest which he never don’t that before.
