Born with Plagues

Chapter 3

An hour earlier...

In the city central hall, the citizens of the town are gathered to hear a speech from the world's messiah as they describe him,

"Now we're we done with the formalities" the host of the gathering then says, "let's welcome the world's messiah, Darius himself", then the crowd gives the world's messiah a standing ovation as he walks in, he was a very tall man with a well permed and polished black hair, he had light blue eyes that seemed soothing to look at, after the clapping subsides, he then adjusts his black tie that perfectly matched his raven black suit as he clears his throat ready to give his speech,

"I most pleased to be in you citizens presence this afternoon, normally I'm a very busy man but I squeezed out time just to have a talk with the citizens of this city, in case you don't know this city has the highest recorded population of plagued humans and we all know the hardships and destruction they have and are causing everywhere, but I assure you, we're working towards an era were plagued humans are no more!" the crowd then cheers loudly. One of the men in suits standing behind Darius puts his phone back in his breast pocket, apparently he just finished making a call that seemed to hold very important information as his face was disturbed, he then walks over to Darius and whispers something into his ear which immediately made Darius eyes grow wide with disbelief, the man then walks back to where he was previously standing, Darius then faces the crowd and addresses them

"An important matter just arose that needs immediate attention, but do not worry, whenever I'm free I'll continue with this speech but for now you can all return to your homes, and it still remains my pleasure to have met you all" the crowd then applauds him again as they gradually leave. Darius then walks over to where his men stood and faces the one that earlier disclosed the information to him,

"What do they mean when they say he has escaped?" He then asks rhetorically,

"Not only that, he has also caused unimaginable damage on his first day of break out" the man then adds, Darius face then creepily lights up,

"Instead of us showing signs of regret, why don't we go and pay the devil a visit...".

Present...

As I walked past the whistling trees, the noisy roadside gatherings, the sellers who by all means wanted to entice me with their goods, I made sure not to make hand nor eye contact so as not to startle anyone that might by any chance remember me. In a way I felt some regret rejecting the offer of Jean and his crew, I mean who in this present time would want to accept a total stranger into their compound,

"Ouch" I grabbed my stomach as it sent me a painful signal that it was in need of food which just made matters worse, now where I'm going to find food, at this kind of situation it's only reasonable to just go back to Jean and offer my heart felt apologies, to me that was my only option until my eyes caught the view of an extremely wide and large building that had pictures of what looked like snack and other goodies on a poster with 'supermarket' written on the top,

"Hmm, from the looks of that building and the pictures on that poster, it looks like I can smuggle one or two edibles that can keep my stomach satisfied to some extent", a wide smile then spread across my face as I approached the building after which I enter.

"Holy s**t" I exclaimed as my eyes were hit with magnificence, the building's inner beauty by far surpassed that of the outside, and don't get me started on the variety of splendid goodies the building was full with,

"Good sir, is there something you can't find" one of the staff asks as he walks up to me, he must've noticed me staring,

"Could you take me to where I can find snacks" I then reply,

"My pleasure good sir" he smiles as he gestures his arm towards a direction which I then follow, I wondered why he kept addressing me as 'sir', maybe it was because of the mature clothing Jean dressed me with, "ugh", the thought of Jean seeing me naked gave me thrills, not that it actually mattered as more people had seen my nakedness the short time I was without clothes, at least those moments are gone now.

I looked up at the banner hanging from the ceiling which read 'snacks', I was finally here. As I walked past the different varies of snacks neatly arranged on shelves, I could feel myself practically salivating, the snacks were just too enticing for me to keep my composure. Due to my absent mindedness, I then mistakenly bumped into an old woman and spilled her veggies everywhere,

"Oh no, my veggies!" She screams with her fragile old voice,

"My bad, forgive my insolence" I sympathized as squatted down to help her pick the veggies, as I was about to touch one of the veggies, it starts to burn and this then triggers the other veggies to ignite flames as they all burn down. I couldn't do anything but look at the old woman as she looks at me back, and due to anger she immediately without hesitation shouts out for the security and nobody needed to tell me that was my cue to run!. Immediately, I stood up and started running as fast as my legs could take me, I even ran past the approaching security men before they even had time to react, as I was then about reaching the exit, I briefly looked back just to see a bunch of uniformed men desperately trying to catch up with me but unlucky for them I was already out of the building, I then forcefully slammed the door behind me making them crash into it, giving me little to time to find a means of escape. I looked around me, looking for a possible route to use to escape, but if I were to follow any of the available route, the security men would surely see me and come after me, I then looked at the top of the building as an idea came into my head. The security men then ran outside only to find me nowhere, they look farther but no sign of me, they then give up as they enter back into the building. Unknown to the security guards, I was at the top of the building observing them, seeing the grim look on their face somehow gave me satisfaction, but still I wondered how I got to the top of the building so quick, I guess fear can make one do anything, "s**t" I exclaimed on realizing that I forgot to smuggle some snacks..., I knew it, I felt it the moment I reached the top of this building but now it's gotten stronger,

"Whoever you are show yourself this instant" I then shout as l look around,

"Hmm, I applaud you for having detected my presence" a voice from behind me says making me immediately leap away from where I stood, as I then turn around, I saw someone, a man to be specific, he was tall and had a suit on, he then observes me all round with his light blue eyes,

"Who're you?" I then ask the man as he smirks,

"I'm Darius..."
