“I am ten minutes away baby,” Janice said to Toni over the speaker phone.
Toni had an hour to calm down after the phone call she received earlier, and she was not going to spoil the mood quit yet, especially with Janice behind the wheel. Instead, she was getting a couple drinks together before they headed out to Ruth Chris where Toni had reservations.
She was not at all going to let Jared ruin what they had and were building together. Jared did not want to get involved with Toni on any level, whether that meant legal, or streetwise. Toni was not only a true professional, but she was also street smart, and had friends in both worlds.
