Greg’s pov My legs sprinted through the forest, heading back to the pack house. “Mom!” I called out as soon as I pushed the door to her room open. “Yes, darling.” She sat upright, and I ran into her arms. “Where have you been?” She asked, “The forest again…” She replied herself. That has been my routine, the only place I found solace. “Yes, Mother, and would you believe I experienced what you told me about,” I informed her. “Why?” Her eyes widened; I didnt know if it was good news or the other. “Not quite long, Mom,” I responded. “How do you feel? Was it too peaceful? Do your bones ache? " she asked, her voice shaky and her eyes scanning through my body. “For the moment, it was really painful.
