Alice had just finished a quiet dinner of spaghetti and beef stew when Evan returned from work. Coming up closely behind him were Sheila and Steven.
“Hey, you,” Sheila called out to Alice waving. She walked over to her and squatted to see her ankle, before getting up and greeting Genevieve.
“Oh, you’re Alice’s roommate,” Genevieve observed, as she replied Sheila’s greeting. “And you are...?” she asked, looking at Steven.
