Alice arrived home from work just as Sheila was serving dinner on the table. “Hey, girl!” she greeted, placing a large plate of chicken cooked with garlic and herbs, on the table. The whole apartment smelt delicious. Sheila’s hair had been tied up in a messy bin and her apron was stained with what looked like blood, but Alice knew it definitely was tomato paste. “This looks like we’re having a Thanksgiving feast,” Alice said laughing, as she went over to give Sheila a side hug. “It’s not everyday your mum comes to visit.
