EMMET'S P.O.V

Today is the last day of school, and then I'll have the summer all to myself. That is unless my parents make me take my adoptive brother, and do stupid stuff with him, like going swimming and all that stupid s**t. After waking up, I got out of bed, and I went to the bathroom. I saw Kyle, my brother, standing outside of our parents' room. He's 10 years old, with black neck-length hair. He refuses to cut it. He's also got a bunch of freckles lining his face. He's about four feet and three inches. He's short if you ask me, but I guess he's also tall for his age. He's light-skinned, and he's kinda pale. He looks nothing like us. Don't get me wrong, I've come to love the small i***t with all my heart, but I'm just saying my parents and I all three have red curly hair, pale skin, and freckles. I look the most like my mom. "Um, kyle sir, what are you doing dear, little brother?" I asked him. "I want to go in and ask mom and dad if I can go to the pool tomorrow, but I'm scared," he said. "bro what the f**k why are you scared you p***y?" I asked him. "what did I tell you about speaking to your brother like that" my mom said out of nowhere. "im sorry mom I forgot" I said. "Whatsup hunny. What did you want to ask us?" She said to Kyle. "Right, I was wondering if I could go to the pool with my friends tomorrow to celebrate the last day of school, and the first day of summer?" he asked. "Yeah I suppose that's fine but I want you to take Emmete" she said. "Um no I have stuff I have to do tomarrow" I rebutteled. "Emmete your funny thinking you can just say no to me. I wouldn't try that again if I were you", she said. "I'm sorry mom. It's just that I was gonna hang out with my own friends tomorrow", I said. "Why dont you see if they want to tag along, they will have a bunch of fun, I'm sure. She said" "Yeah no. Its fine. I don't care that much," I said" "That's what I figured. Now both of you go and get dressed for school", my mom said. I walked away, and into the bathroom because I still had to take a s**t. I sat on the toilet, and I pulled out my phone to start scrolling through social media. It was the same thing I've seen every day. just boring people who think they have more to offer, but dont. After finishing up, I went to my room and I began to get dressed for the last day of stupid school. If I had any other choice, I wouldn't go, but I have to. I picked out a black t-shirt and a pair of black jeans. I wanted to look good today. After getting dressed, I went to wait for Kyle in the car. It only took about five minutes before he joined me. Once Kyle was in the car, we drove off to school. I dropped him off at his school, and I went to mine. We were running kinda late, but he should make it just in the knick of time. I parked the car and I went inside the school. I took a seat at a table, but the second I sat down, I smelled something. It was overwhelming. I got up, and I started walking towards it, but damnit it's in the girls' bathroom. I turned around and I went to sit nearby to watch what happen's. One girl came out and looked pissed, and then about five minutes later, another girl came out. She just looked annoyed. She smelled so good, like oranges and bananas. It was so tasty, it was flora. Of all the people, it just had to be flora. This isn't good. I have to get out of here. I ran out of school, and I waited outside until first period started. We have the same class together, which isn't good for me. I absolutely can not make a move. There is too much at stake here. I set an alarm on my phone to notify me when it's time to go back in, and then I closed my eyes. I pictured flora, her long curly brown hair, her beautiful green eyes, and her brown skin. Her nose points out, but it's also like a small button. She's absolutely adorable. I have to get her out of my mind. This isn't good at all. I took a walk around school, and it didn't do me any good. My phone rang, letting me know that it was time for class. I walked back into the school to see a bunch of students walking to class as well. I walked alongside them until I reached my class. Flora was sitting there staring off into space. I wonder what she was thinking about. She is so pretty, I couldn't take my eyes off of her. I took my seat, and I watched her the entire class. She finished her assignment and then started staring at the ceiling. When she looked down, she immediately noticed my gaze. I couldn't avert it. Instead, I kept my eyes where they were. We were staring at one another at the same time, but then she went back to looking at the ceiling. I immediately missed those eyes. Before I knew, class was over, I went to my next period and I waited for lunch to arrive. Once it did, I went outside and I ate my food. It wasn't the greatest, but it was something. Once lunch was over, I went to my other class and waited in the hall until it started. It was about ten minutes and then I was able to go in. I took my seat and I listened to the instructor. It was super boring and it went by very slowly when class was finally over. I went to my last class. Flora is in this class and I can't wait to see her again when she comes in. I started staring at her again. I felt kinda bad since I was probably making her uncomfortable, but I couldn't stop or hold myself back, it was just kinda happening once class was over. I left class and I went to get Kyle who was waiting for me at school. He got in the car and we drove home. I fell in love today, which is horrible. I'm gonna have to figure out how to restrain myself for now. When we went home. I went straight to my room and, I undressed, I through my clothes to the floor and I jumped in bed. I didn't have even a second before my mom came in asking me to clean my room and do my laundry. I got started and finished an hour later. After that, I laid back down and went into deep thought about my current situation. After thinking for so long, I fell asleep and stayed that way till morning. I skipped dinner, which is fine because I wasn't hungry. Anyway, when I woke up I went to get my clothes from the dryer so that I could fold them. Afterwards, I got my trunks and I packed my swim bag. It wasn't long before Kyle came in asking when we were going to leave. I said we would leave at eleven thirty and we were walking as well. I went back to bed and laid down while waiting for the time to come. I accidentally fell asleep and time went by very fast. Kyle was in my room with all his swimming stuff waking me up. "get up' get up' get up" he shouted loudly over and over. "OK, OK, I'm up, get out of my room so that I can change," I said. He left my room and I changed into my trunks, then I met up with Kyle downstairs. We got a snack before we left and we started our journey to the pool. Once we arrived, I paid our entrance fee and we entered the pool hall. Kyle set all his stuff on a bench for me to deal with and he ran outside to jump in. I put all of our stuff in a locker and I ran out after him. He was already in the pool and I had to stop to see if I could find him. I spotted him next to the basketball hoops he was playing with some other kid. He looked like a white version of flora and I was smelling her again. I walked around looking for her but I couldn't find her, so I gave up and I jumped into the pool with Kyle and his new friend. We played basketball many times. It was two on one and I was the one who kept winning. I let them win a few times, but ultimately, they sucked ass after some playing. I went to the bathroom, but when I came back, flora was with them. I ran over and jumped right next to her and wanted to kiss her so badly, but I couldn't. We all four started playing basketball until the pool closed and then I called my parents to come get Kyle so that I could take flora and mark home when Kyle was passed off to my parents. I went to Flora's house. I got to have dinner with them and they even invited me to play a game with them. They were very kind. At the end of the night, Flora's mom went to work and Kyle, when to his room, I went up to Flora's room to say goodnight. I accidentally kissed her a lot and then I just left. I don't regret my decision.
