The first descendant

Chapter 6

We were across the lake. In a minute we got out sitting on the bank. The sun was starting to set over the lake, making it reflect all the purple, pink and orange colors beautifully. I leaned back soaking it in for some reason the colors seemed more vibrant I thought just yesterday I had my life figured out today I have to restart I don't even know if I will be able to follow the dreams I worked so hard for yet I couldn't be completely sad about it and I think it's because the man who was sitting next to me peacefully drawing in the sand which scared the f**k out of me because I don't feel like this about people and he is still a stranger I have only known him a day I should not even be thinking this I shook my head standing. What are you doing rex asked as I walked to the water sticking my feet in and plopping down looking for shells, rocks or little treasures I answered digging in the sand and pulling up a handful letting the water wash it away leaving all the little rocks and things in my hand I started picking through it. You probably won't find many good ones here but on the other side of the property we have a little cave that has a little bit of a pond that a stream leads to directly connected to the ocean we can go there tomorrow and see what we can find there will probably be better ones there rex said standing as well. I nodded. That sounds like fun but you never know where you will find the best hidden treasure. A lake that you don't think is all that special can just as easily hold the best treasures.

You are definitely right about that rex said walking into the water come on let's go to the house he said motioning for me to come hop on his back I did wrapping my limbs tightly around him we were immediately zipping so fast through the water I looked up at the sky the sun had mostly set leaving just a few colors in the sky while the rest was in the in between where it was not dark yet but also couldn't really be described as light. Before I even realized Rex was setting me down at the door to the house, I said what about Melony and tazz. I think their uhh busy rex said awkwardly ohh eww I'm so glad I wasn't paying attention I laughed. We walked in walking up to his room I stood there as he grabbed bags out of his closet you can find what u want to wear while I clean out this dresser for your stuff so you don't have to keep digging through bags thank you I said opening the bags I found another tank top just a plain black one and found some loose pajama shorts that were light pink with little white stars on them I grabbed those hey do you have a towel I want to wash the lake off I asked rex quickly handed me one I walked to the bathroom taking my wet bathing suit off I turned the hot water on and stepped in standing under the spray of the shower I quickly washed my hair and body and jumped out I used a delicious vanilla scented moisturizer put my pajamas on and attempted to style my hair a little before just deciding on a messy bun with some of my bangs out. I nodded in the mirror good enough before I walked out.

Rex had finished cleaning out the dresser. He showed me where he put all of the things he got me then he grabbed some plaid white and black pajama pants and a towel heading to the bathroom. I heard the water turn on and felt a little weird just standing in his room so I walked downstairs finding a cheesecake in one of the many bags of takeout still on the counter I cut a slice and slapped it on one of the paper plates then I seen brownies and chocolate covered fruit in the next bag I cut a brownie and grabbed one of the little self serving size containers of chocolate covered mixed fruit I walked into the other room finding the remote I turned on a horror movie about a man who stalks and kills his victims. Focused on the TV as the stalker was looking for the girl who was hiding behind the curtain, what ya watching rex said plopping down making me jump and then laugh at myself. Scary movie I said rex nodded, grabbing some of the chocolate covered fruit out of its container and scooting closer to me on the couch.

Melony and tazz walked in laughing, when they looked over and saw us still up Mel looked a little embarrassed , see you in the morning she said as she followed tazz. I laughed awkwardly taking a big bite of brownie. So we all are going to the VCA. I was thinking 8:00 am Rex said sounds good to me. I also need to go to my apartment to grab a few things if you don't mind before we come back here. Rex nodded no problem you could have told me I didn't get all the correct stuff and I would have went back, no I laughed the stuff you got is fine I may grab a bag of my favorite comfy clothes but I mostly want my laptop and school books Rex yawned alright we will go there when we leave the VCA, but I'm going to head to bed we have to get an early start to the day. So vampires still have to sleep I asked now getting nervous to share his bed maybe I could just stay up, rex nodded yes much less than humans though me and tazz never went to sleep last night or the night before because we were doing some work in the club and I will probably only sleep a few hours before getting up and making some calls because tomorrow night I have some work to do. I nodded accepting that but you need to get rest to make the change easier rex said standing and offering me his hand.

I took his hand slowly following him to his room. I stood in the middle of the floor as Rex walked over and slid under the blanket. I was aware how awkward I looked standing there just looking at the bed but I was too nervous to move knowing his halfway naked body was under that blanket with those mouth watering abs and delicious arm and back muscles, come on rex said motioning his hand for me to get into the bed with him, there is plenty of room for you to sleep here to I won't touch you rex assured me. I climbed under the blanket, being sure to stay at the edge of the bed and not get too close , especially because my mind was already wild with the thoughts of my tongue licking all of the impeccable lines of muscle on his body, and the things that I just know he would do to me. I shivered trying to turn my brain off. I closed my eyes waiting patiently to fall asleep.

I was freezing. I couldn't feel my body. I fought to wiggle my feet or hands but couldn't move an inch. I snapped my eyes open seeing nothing but ice thick ice that you couldn't see through just the blurs of light streaking through the layers. I fought more the move my limbs trying to scream but no sound is coming out I'm going to die going to freeze stuck in this ice how did I even get here I wondered, suddenly I felt a bit of warmth it helped the sound start to come out as I screamed for help to get out of here Ren I hear as I got a little bit warmer still Ren I heard louder and opened my eyes to see I was still in Rex’s bed and his hard shirtless body was wrapped around me. I could feel his warm smooth skin against all of mine that the tank top and shorts left exposed which was even more now they must have ridden up while I was sleeping. Waking up more I realized my body was still shaking from shivers I was freezing but at least rex’s warmth is keeping me from feeling like I'm freezing to death.it was just a dream rex whispered sleepily rubbing his warm hand up my arm, I didn't speak I just scooted closer nuzzling my face into his chest focusing on the heat his body was offering me. I felt his hand slip under the back of my shirt his rough palm lightly scratching up my spine I shivered slightly for a different reason letting my hand gently slide down his chest over the contours of his abs just as my fingertips reached the waist band of his pajamas rex shot up catching my hand , He stood clearing his throat I,m gonna go grab something to drink and some extra blankets he blurted heading for the door. I heard the door close and bury my head under the blankets somehow even as the cold intensifies I still feel my face burning.
