Chapter 27: Supreme Magister

909 Words
Since the day Arion discovered the existence of magic and the free-bending mana that fuels it's creation, as an intellectual inventor or cultivator such as himself, he had this crazy idea in his head considering the fact he couldn't control a single magic spell. The idea that topples is his sanity imbalance is none other the proof of the law of conservation of energy stating that energy cannot be destroyed nor be created, simply because it flows over the system from within, garnishing the matter into its form. This concept applies to the notion of magic where the abundance of mana in this world is almost ethereal, almost everything runs in the use of the spells where the magic was realized. But the problem is that not anyone can use the exact same amount of mana present in the vicinity of the subject if the intangible receptacle born within the body of a person when they were still infant has a lower capacity or higher capacity is a crucial factor. However, the first question that popped out of Arion's head is pretty standard even for someone who reincarnated in a magical world; that is whether he can accumulate the free source of mana just lying around waiting to be absorbed. "And this is my creation... I named it– Infinite Core! This small cube on my hand is an infinite source of mana that cannot deplete, and my idea is that if I don't have magic, then I should create my own!" Arion covered half of his face with his right hand, an inclination whenever he introduces his inventions to other people. It was the time a veteran alchemist such as Adriel was stunned by the cube above Arion's palms. His so-called invention shines dimly maybe because of the incoming sunlight from the glass pane window, but nevertheless, she didn't expect it was mind-blowing than what he explained. "Arion... you're a genius!" Adriel clutched his arm and peered closely at his glorious creation. "This creation is impeccable! You ironed it to the point it becomes a compact object, breeding magic while also absorbing the surrounding mana!" She couldn't express just how amazed she was. Lilith on the other hand saw the exact same light she had never seen before when he met Arion for the first time outside the Guildhall. Anyone who had examined the Infinite Core he created could tell its value as they can clearly feel the flow of mana circulating, waiting to be used and take advantage of. "How did you managed to create this thing? Creating mana is impossible, yet this object can reproduce it freely." Adriel began inquiring for she understood Arion's not the man who's all talk and rather, he actually can drag possibility inside the impossible. "Good question. I can't use its mana so I'm not sure it's working or not, but sooner or later I will create an armament where it can absorb mana instead. Either way, I created this by doing this formula and..." Arion began his long-winded conversation. As Adriel asked him a question, the level of their conversation elevated higher than she anticipated because he really explained the real concept of how he created the Infinite Core scientifically and not in the layman's terminologies. Basically, Arion slapped some natural science, various law of physics, and several complicated formulas that even a normal human mind's in the earth will be blown away what more of a dryad and an elf who never heard the concept he was spouting, which means he activated his nerd card where he will talk like a robot hoping his receiver will somehow fathom his words. "Wait, wait Arion!" Adriel thumped the desk with her fists. "Okay, you're no longer making any sense. What the hell is quadratic formulas, quantum mechanics, and the law of whatsit and law of physics that, what the hell? Explain it more in a way we can understand." The prodigy covered his mouth in surprise, it's been a long time since he got excited about presenting his inventions, he forgot no one in the new world he lives in can understand his swirling storm of knowledge inside his brain; except for the three that were reincarnated, excluding her nameless girlfriend. "I apologized... so to put it bluntly, a single atomic portion of magic–" He isn't even finished talking yet and Adriel interrupted her already. "Come on! No one here knows what is an atomic portion, simplify it better!" She's gritting her teeth as she wanted to learn the secret behind his creation. Little did she know that each of the things he uttered earlier is the knowledge itself although she couldn't understand any of it. "Well... to simplify things in better view–" And again, he stopped speaking when the door suddenly opened forcibly. Adriel's going to reprimand the one who interfered with their conversation but she didn't do so because it was Sarra who greeted them and based on her horrid expression, she will certainly render bad news. "Come to the lobby everyone! The Supreme Magister called our party for some reason." Sarra's all sweaty, she doesn't know what to react nor do. Unaware of what happened, Adriel immediately discerned the sense of urgency and dragged both Arion and Lilith outside her office. "What? Supreme Magister? What is going on?!" Arion let her do as she pleases as they descend on the stairs towards the lobby. The first interference of the four Goddesses has been set, and Arion's true ordeal will about to begin; turning the wheel of destiny further beyond its hinges.
