Chapter 6: First Armament

1089 Words
The rabbles of wicked, rowdy mages were staring at Arion in disdain as if non-verbally saying they were superior. "Hey, kid. What did you just tell us to do, huh?!" One of the guys who seems to be their leader mocked him up. Taunted from their numbers, he'd never falter over them once he held the justice he's keeping in his heart. "What's that set-up? Are you some kind of clown? If so, we can forgive you for your rude behavior." Their leader has a lot of air on his head. He sure knows how to intimidate whom he is talking to. It wouldn't work when Arion had something in mind that he should do no matter what, even if it costs his life. "I said get off of your hands on her!" Arion exclaimed. Sympathy was eating away his choice, he's keenly looking at the girl who's seriously injured, and glanced back at him as her eyes about to shut from the extreme pain she underwent. Even if she had the remaining strength to call for help, she never did and only accepted the fact there's no way for her to escape the clutches of her oppressor. "Hey," Their leader pulled Arion's neck up close in an elevated degree, strangling him as he fights back by grasping his hand really tight. "This elf is our slave so we can do anything we want with this thing." He proved his point which is the truth. Regrettably, he doesn't have enough physical strength to even defy the foe he's facing, the hands that were currently choking him weren't moving a bit. "That's it...? You treat her as an object because she's a slave?!" Arion's fully aware he's being swayed by his emotion, proof that his voice became higher. Right at that moment, he doesn't know what his body is doing anymore. Bubbles of his saliva began to come out of his mouth, his feet were not touching the ground. His death was once again flashing right before his very eyes, not until another system interface panel blocked his line of vision, as though the time and space continuum itself stopped from moving. [ Choose a phrase for the manifestation of your inventions ] "What is this stupid thing again...?" An alternate spirit form, Arion was standing next to his physical body that's being choked by these foolish mages who would never hesitate to hurt another being, regardless of race. His spiritual form was under a choice, influence within a stasis of halted time, he resolutely answered the system's call. "Creation Select... that shall be the basis of my inventions!" The blinding flash of radiance has encompassed his entire being. A circular emblem clockwork that has a written sign "Class: Creator" surrounded over nodes of various icons which branches for up to six levels, possibly a part of the system. "Argh... what is this thing... Azrael never told me this kind of stuff that kinda resembles an old RPG." Right after, Arion felt the surge of energy coursing through his veins, a popped up message appeared again. [ Choose a beginning armament (one time only) ] "I guess I'll click it." Arion's mind is under the pressure of understanding his current situation. He just went with the flow without actually using his knowledge of over 200 IQ, simply following the flow of his instinct and agreed to the unknown force that's weaving his fate. Then the panel of another three choices became visible in his line of sight to the point he got used to it. Arion guesses since he was reincarnated, he should have at least one armament, or else he'll die right after he arrived, which is what's currently happening in his mortal body right now. [ Infinite Crossbow - Ready ] [ Pathfinder Laser - Ready ] [ Mechanical Exoskeleton - Ready ] The three armaments that he's going to choose from doesn't even have any icons or a piece of description. This information should be present so he can properly choose. Although just reading the name, he can understand what they are for considering he didn't just invent revolutionary machines that benefitted the entire humanity, but he was also secretly creating deadly weapons. Sadly he couldn't use them since he was pulled in his world. The infinite crossbow must mean a crossbow that has infinite ammo of silver bolts, while the second one should be a weapon that can shoot a laser, and lastly, the last one looks like a defensive weapon or alike. "Argh... what should I choose? Should I be pragmatic or situational?" Yet again, Arion's 85 million neurons in his head were working together for him to be able to choose one conclusion. The choice he accepted was to be pragmatic, dealing with his current situation where he's being strangled should first in precedence. "I choose... Mechanical Exoskeleton!" [ Are you sure? There's no turning back. ] "I don't care anymore!" Out of rage, he clicked the yes button. Suddenly, the rest of the navigation system panel gradually vanished like a light of fireflies fleeting in the wind. After Arion chose his first armament, his spiritual form was forced back onto his mortal form as the time continues once again. Before he could react, a wave of radiance has enveloped his entire body that the leader concurrently choking him let him off the hook. "Wh-What?" They backed off since they don't what's he up to. At that instance, he felt the cold touch of a sturdy object being plunged onto his chest, as clanking steel reverberated within along with the metallic carapace were forming under his sweater and jeans, up to his posterior and anterior. These vines of metals crumpled against both of his arms while it's being formed like some sort of literally exoskeleton exterior armor that covers his limbs. It specifically covered most of his arms in metals and different kinds of alloys that greatly increases his defenses. Sounds of ticking clockwork can be heard from his chest that the evil mages before him were now slowly moving backward. Arion then realized his entire body was infused with pure machinery as the Mechanical Exoskeleton he's currently wearing became a part of him. The elf girl that was lying on the ground saw the radiance of light he's emitting, a light in which she never has seen before. "Heh... not bad for my first armament..." Arion muttered, he deviated from his reasoning from trying to understand the laws of physics of this world. With his newfound strength, he mustered up his courage to face the evil in his presence, making sure the justice he held before he died shall be rendered properly. [ Mechanical Exoskeleton - Acquired ]
