BILLIONAIRE FAMILY CONTRACT.

CHAPTER 11

He held my hand in his till the car stopped, I'm guessing we’ve arrived at the hospital. His side of the door was opened, he stepped out looking all cold and scary. I guess the media are right, I was about to open my side when it was opened from me by Alex, he places his hand in front of me waiting to help me out.

I placed my hand on his awaiting big hand as he helped me out of the car only to be surrounded by his bodyguards again, we walked into the hospital I recognised as Sunnyside as we stepped into the reception.

We walked past the receptionist who seemed to be in a world of her own as she saw Alex, we took the elevator. We got to mom's room floor and I opened the door to her room, Felix is seated beside her bed doing some school work. He lifted his head when he heard the door opening, he looked at me with a smile on his face and looked beside me where Alex occupies with shock evident in his eyes.

I decided to ease the tension, I walked to him and placed a kiss on his hair blocking his view of Alex. “How is she?” I asked him, picking up one of his textbooks labeled ‘Automobile Engineering for Experts.’ I looked at it like an alien and I was about to drop it but Alex collected it, he looked at it with a smile on his face.

“You are an automobile Engineering student,” Alex asked Felix, who seemed to be over his idol gazing.

“Yes, I'm in my final year. I'm hoping to get my internship done in Xavier's Limited.” Felix told him looking down shyly.

“His dream is to work for Xavier's Limited and he's working hard to make it happen, he's a 4.8 student. We hope it's enough to be accepted into the internship program this year.” I chipped in on his behalf. Looking at him with pride in my eyes.

“4.8, whoa buddy that's impressive. We will be honored to have you for the internship program, it will be a shame to allow you intern in a competition company.” Alex told him, giving him his textbook back while my brother blushes silently.

I don't think Alex realizes what his words meant to Felix, he gave him the validation he's always wanted.

A knock took us out of the discussions Felix and Alex are having about engineering, Dr Lia walks in with some forms “I'm so sorry to disturb you but you need to sign some transfer papers.” she said, presenting some documents to me.

“She's ready to be moved Mr Knights,” She continued bowing to Alex, who nodded in response.

While I was signing the presented documents, I saw some doctors coming in while they hooked mom to another machine which they brought in before moving her into the bed they brought in. I noticed Alex standing behind me wrapping as he wrapped his around right arm on my waist with his chest very close to my back as if he was checking out what I'm doing.

I tried filling in the forms, not allowing his closeness to bother me, when I got to the part where I was to fill in the insurance details or payment means for the discharge.

“You can leave the space blank, I will sort it out.” Alex whispered into my ear awakening a tingling sensations all over my body, I shivered a little bit making him pull me closer into himself maybe he thinks I'm cold. I nodded in response, I appended my signature at the bottom of the forms and arranged it back.

I pulled away from Alex wanting to go submit the forms as mom was wheeled out of the room with Felix following behind, the form was collected by Alex placing his arm around my waist as we walked out of the room. We stopped at the reception and he dropped the form, he took his arm off my waist to take something out of his suit jacket, he pulled out a black credit card and placed it on the form.

We waited for the form to be processed and the discharge fee was reduced from the black card, we left after that to see mom placed in the ambulance and Felix was about to join her at the back of the ambulance but he was stopped by Alex.

“We will meet them at the hospital, you are coming with us.” Alex said to him, Felix looked at me for confirmation. I nodded my head in response before looking at the man standing before me with admiration. He's really invested in making this marriage look like a real one, it's something I find fascinating, worrisome and appreciative. His behaviour will make mom comfortable with our arrangement I hope.

We watched the ambulance take off with two SUVs filled with bodyguards going before and after the ambulance. Felix stood beside me while we both watched Alex speak with some people.

I pulled Felix into a side hug to reassure him “She will be fine, I promise.”

He returned the hug with a firm one of his own, “I think he's going by the contract, if I wasn't aware of your arrangement I would say he's in love with you.”

“I was telling myself the same thing, he acts as if we are a real couple. I guess we have to make it look real to ourselves first if we want the world to believe us. Did you see the part in the contract that states that none of us are allowed to call this an arrangement?” I said to him

“I read the contract twice Sissy, I just hope when the arrangement is over you won't get hurt.” He told me, looking down at me while I looked up to him. I have to say, it sucks having taller younger siblings.

“I will always have you guys, so I will be fine.” I replied to him with a small smile.

“We can be on our way, I'm so sorry for keeping you guys waiting.” Alex said as he walked towards us, he pulled me away from Felix arm into his then placed a kiss on my forehead. “Hope your feets doesn't hurt from standing for long?” He asked me looking down at me as if I was his prized possession. I could only shake my head in response, too shocked to give a vocal response. Felix looked away with a smile on his face.

We walked back to his parked vehicle. I know nothing about cars but I can tell it's an expensive model. I could see how dumbstruck Felix was when he saw the car, a bodyguard opened the door and we got in, Felix went in first leaving me in between he and Alex. The ride to Knights hospital began and as worried as I am, I'm also tired and I needed to sleep.

I took my phone out of my bag to see the time and I was surprised to see that it's almost midnight, we’ve been at this for over three hours. Felix and I are yet to have our dinner and I would have been asleep on a normal day because I have to wake the kids up for school and also prepare for work.

“You look tired love. What about I take you home and we will go check up in your mom tomorrow before her surgery?” Alex suggested, taking my hand into his big one.

“Someone needs to get her admitted and what if she wakes up and she's alone. I don't mind staying with her.” I explained to him. I believe she will receive the best treatment in Knights Hospital, if the news are right Knights Hospital has two care nurses in charge of each of their patients to ensure the patient needs are met and the family won't have to pause their lives taking care of their loved ones. But, I just want to be there with her even when I know my presence would be useless.

“Her admission will be sorted by the Director himself, I can give him a call to reassure you. She won't be alone, she would have the best care nurses appointed to her they would stay with her day and night and if there is any news about her, you will be the first to know, I promise you love. You need to rest and be with the kids and siblings.” He replied not letting go of my hand.

He has a point, mom will receive the best medical care with the best medical professionals, I looked at Felix who also looked tired but he's trying to appear alright. He's been out of the house since 5 am, he has a study group and they meet up in the morning before lectures commence, he rushed back from school and now he's still awake.

Felix nods his head at me to accept the offer, I looked at Alex who was still staring at me “Alright, but what about our dinner?”

“It's been delivered to the hospital, my assistant will bring it to your house when we get there.” He responded, he took out his phone. He typed away on it then he placed it in his pants pocket after some seconds.

He picks up a landline I didn't notice in front of him and he pressed a button before dropping the answer back. A ring was heard indicating the telephone is on speaker, it was picked up immediately “ Sir,”

“Change of plan, we are taking my girlfriend and her brother home.”

“Location sir,”

He looked at me silently asking me for the address.

I called out our address and the line was dropped, “You can take a nap, Sissy.” Felix suggested looking at me. I understand the words hidden under his message, I have a problem with sleeping alone and if I don't sleep on time, I won't be able to fall asleep all night. That's why I don't take midnight jobs.

I sat comfortably with my back to the seat and my head was thrown back. I know I might wake up with a sprained neck but it's better than resting on Felix who also needs rest. I was on the verge of dozing off when I felt myself being pulled from the waist into a warm body and a kiss on my hair. I slept off comfortably.
