Chapter Twenty-OneThe day of the mediation was overcast and cool, with grey clouds looming over the tops of the skyscrapers that populated downtown Los Angeles. Sarah and Scott met in the thirty-seventh floor reception room of Linda Brewer's office, and then an assistant led them to a conference room that seated eight. There were floor to ceiling windows that looked onto downtown traffic, so that as the day of mediation progressed, they could observe first hand just how bad the freeway snarls had become. “You feel okay?” Scott asked Sarah, as they waited for Linda Brewer's arrival. “Yeah, I guess so.
