Chapter 9

Christopher's pov

I wake up early as usual with a frown on my face , today I was in for it , business calls , conferences , meetings , parties , contract signings , conference calls , audiences with the president and governor , interviews , charity events , donation ceremony , new open of a new company building , construction check out of a new company building .

I dry my hair quickly looking at the phone which was dinging probably from the latest news reports .

" Brother incoming call from President Williams " Matthew held a tablet to my face . I put off the hair dryer and answer the call .

" Good morning President Lin . . . I see I'm too early , it seems you just got up from bed "

" no , I can answer a business call anywhere , anytime " I state taking the tablet from Matthew as we walk out of the room .

" in coming call from President Adams " Matthew held another tablet to my face, then another , then another , soon there were five tablets with ongoing calls to my face .

" I would like to add my terms and conditions to that " I say to President Adams .

" President Lin " A female President calls .

" I'm here , I don't think that would do . . . yes , yes "

I look at Matthew for help but he was occupied holding onto the tablets and making a phone call , my guess is he was calling our secretary .

" President Lin " President Williams called .

" I wouldn't have to own 80% shares of the company " I say under the pressure . And in 30 minutes our secretary was here .

" boss " she mouthed .

" I'll sign the contract if we can agree on a specific . . . " I keep on talking ingnoring her totally .

" you have a meeting in 5 " she mouthed again .

" I'll have you talk to my secretary about that then " I say passing a tablet to her .

" about the construction project President Lin "

" I'll have you talk to my Vice President concerning that , but you must know . . . permitted " I say and toss the tablet to Matthew with a sigh .

" President Lin ! " the tabs scream .

" excuse me , hold " I say to all three then turn to Matthew .

" you'll have to represent me in BT corporation " I give him that ' don't mess up ' look .

" okay , okay " I saying moving forward as I continue the calls with Matthew and our secretary moving back making their own calls while holding tablets to my face .

Ellie's pov

I woke up feeling all kinds off things , all kinds of feelings and all kinds of hurt . I cried all night and I barely hand any strength this morning as nanny woke me up for the last time .

daddy and I walk into his office holding hands because I was scared , scared I would never see him as often as usual and scared I'd never be able to call on nanny like before for her service , hugs, advice , food and company . She had suggested I wore something light today so I wore a short pink skin tight mini jean skirt , my big rainbow thigh length handknit sweater which revealed my left shoulder , then my white sneakers . Nanny had my hair into a ponytail and then handed me my gigantic pink teddy bear , grace rushed in interrupting my thoughts of her and I just pout staring at her as I sit on daddy's chair in front of his table . Daddy stood in front of his windows enjoying the view the skyscraper building allowed to see .

" President Ben , vice president Lin is here " she said and then our gazes met then she flashed a smile waving a bit . I gave a faint smile then I hear daddy walking towards his table .

" please , bring him in grace " daddy smiled politely as held placed one hand on my shoulder , probably because he was sad too .

" yes President Ben " In no time he was in and with a small smirk on his face .

" President Ben " he greeted .

" Vice President Lin " daddy said , although see his face because he was behind me I knew he was smiling . I pout sadly hugging my teady bear tightly .

" I see he couldn't make it today " daddy said .

" he's in a really stressful position right now " President Lin's brother giggled " here sign this " he dropped a file on the table and pushed it to the corner where daddy stood looking at me with a soft smile .

I watch daddy go through the file with a satisfied smile and a nod of his head , he smiled widely and signed the documents carefully . it meant he was supportive with the terms and conditions what so ever was in that document . he pushed it back with a sigh .

" I'll have it sign and copied back to you " he picked up the file and looked at me .

" Incase you haven't met this is my daughter . . . "

" Ellie " they both chorus .

" you've met ? " daddy gasped .

" thank to my brother " he chuckled as if remembering something and then shook his head as if snapping out of it .

" oh . . . okay , Ellie ?! this is Matthew Lin Lin Vice President of Lin Lin industries , brother of President Christopher Lin " daddy turned to me and I grip my teddy tightly .

" hello Mr Matthew " I say shyly .

" I'm not good with formalities , those are for my brother " he chuckled and then sighed " anyways I'll give you both father and daughter some alone time I'll see you in 5 "

we watch as he walked out quickly and I turn to daddy with tears in my eyes .

" be strong dear , be strong for me , be strong for nanny and be strong for yourself won't you ? " daddy said hugging me as he cleaned my tears quickly .

" okay daddy , for you and nanny " I smile cleaning my face too . I was so glad I wasn't one to wear makeup unless my tears would have ruined my looks and make up . daddy held my hand as we exit his office and the elevator , I smile when I see grace all over the place as fellow employees called for her and plenty files in her arms .

" grace " I hear daddy laugh , then chuckle .

We exit the building and I see Mr Matthew leaning against a green Lamborghini Sesto Elemento car tiredly like he was exhausted .

" uhhhh , I thought my brother was gonna have to throw me off a building again if we arrived late " he joked , but somehow it didn't sound like one , I mean it does sound like something he would do .

I give daddy a hug and a kiss before heading towards the car squeezing my teddy tightly , he raised the car door for me politely and helped me in putting his hand about my held so I wouldn't bump it on the car as I got in .

" thank you " I mumble .

this made me wonder if he was really the brother of President Lin , if Mr Matthew like this why wasn't Mr Christopher this way too why wasn't he a gentleman like his brother although I don't know much about him like his brother from the attitude he just portrayed I knew he was a kind person . And so as I waved at daddy with a zoom we were off.
