Chapter Four The hardest part of this job was never being home. Nate sat in his office in D.C. waiting on his boss to call him in. It had been weeks since he had slept in his own bed or seen his family. He couldn’t call them from his desk phone, and his damn cell phone battery had quit on him while he’d been away, wouldn’t charge at all. He knew he was damn good at his job, but it was taking a toll on him. He had a business to run back in Westbeach, and that was always falling on his brother without notice.
