Chapter Six Liz never went back to sleep. She had thoroughly embarrassed herself last night and then cried on a strange man’s bare shoulder—after threatening him, the owner of the house she was sleeping in, with a knife. She really couldn’t have done worse. By the time Sam got up, Liz was up, dressed, and ready to go. Sam didn’t question it but did argue over her bringing her bags with them. Sam thought she should stick around for a bit before trying to get a bus ticket and heading out. Liz needed to move on though, and if the danger on her heels wasn’t enough, the embarrassment was.
