Chapter Sixteen
Liz woke to the empty bed. His side was cold, proving he had been up for a while. A quick check of the clock confirmed that she had slept in rather than him getting up early. She didn’t feel bad and knew no one would mind; she had been tired.
Yesterday, when they had gotten back to town and stopped at Sweet Treats, she’d had a great time—well, until the outpouring of women came draping themselves over Nate and shoving their boobs in his face. She felt the jealousy arise again, even now almost a full day later.
She had thought about that a lot last night and the options that Nate had for him even in this town. Most of those women seemed much more put together than she did. There were a few who were questionable; two of them were even married.
