Mrs Brown: (cuts in before Mr Brown finished talking) wow that is great news. Mr Brown: but we have to relocate to Abuja,I will be managing one of the company branches there. Mrs Brown: that is a bad , Ellen and Dennis would find it difficult leaving all their friends here. Mr Brown: They can always make new friends, and also not all friends would remain a friend till when they grow. Mrs Brown: what about school ?, the term is yet to come to an end. Mr Brown: Darling, remember the term will end in two weeks and I am doing this to provide more opportunities for the children. Mrs Brown: I know, but Ellen would not want to leave Florence her best friend. After much consideration and persuasion, Mrs Brown finally agreed hoping to convince her children especially Ellen into seeing reason for the decision and also to seeing the benefits of it. Mr Brown: Do not worry I have an understanding daughter. (Ellen, Ellen, Mr Brown called) ( sir, a sweet and angelic voice answers from the bedroom.A well refined, good looking, elegant and intelligent young girl walks into the sitting room.) Ellen: Father you called me. Mr Brown: yes sweetheart,I called you,me and your mother discussed something that might catch your interest. Ellen: (excited) What is it sir ?. Mr Brown: We are relocating from Lagos to Abuja (Ellen shows a sign of disagreement,Mr Brown noticed but continued talking) l got promoted and was transferred to Abuja (he stopped waiting for Ellen response) . Ellen: Daddy what about school? . Mr Brown: Ellen, you will finish writing your exams in two weeks time, so you will finish your secondary school in Abuja. Ellen: Daddy what about my friends and do not forget that I am recognised as the best student in the school. Mr Brown: sweetie,I know your friends are the best to you, but you can make new friends and do not forget that not all friends would remain a friend till when you grow old. About being the best student in your school, don't you think that going to a more developed and well refined school would boost your academic intelligence and will also make us your parents to check your academic performance and balance (he stopped talking waiting for his wife to back him up). Mrs Brown: In Abuja, there is a more beautiful scenery ,less noise, good schools and other facilities that would help you. ( after a while, Ellen began to think about the benefits of relocating, she made up her mind to be an understanding daughter, she also thought that her father's promotion means there will be more money to buy all the things she needed). Ellen:Dad and mum, I will go but I will really miss my friends, but we would still see each other some day (she said comforting herself) Mr & Mrs Brown: Thanks for understanding us darling, we really appreciate your thoughtful idea,at a very young age you make the right decisions ( they said while hugging her so tightly for a while,then Mr Brown heard a beep on his phone, the three of them released themselves from the grip so that he can check the mail.
