Chapter 2 Amirah We headed out of Penn and I looked for a Taxi. Maybe I should just UBER it I thought to myself as a taxi went by. Luckily he stopped. I ushered Stylan in and tossed our 2 bags in the trunk. “33rd and 1st please.” The driver nodded confirmation and we were on our way. Stylan sat quietly looking out the window. Little Mr Stylz as we occasionally called him. He was taking all of this like a champ/I took in the buildings as we passed. Soon I noticed a hospital. I looked at the street signs. We were on 1st avenue. I couldn’t be so lucky as to live near a hospital could I? Shortly after, the taxi took a left. “Here we are he said. I swiped my card and got out. We were almost right across the street from a hospital. I grabbed the bags and went inside. A doorman helped me with the bags.  “Afternoon ma'am. You must be Amari Pierce.” I nodded confirmation. Right this way. You’re on the 4th floor.” We followed him to the elevator and got on. A short ride later he was leading us to our new home. After I opened the door he helped get the luggage in. I tried to tip him but he waved it off. “Let me know if you have any questions or need anything.” I smiled and closed the door after him. I took a breath and turned around to get started on evaluating things here. What I needed what I wanted to get rid of etc. “Stylz.” I called. “In here mommy.” He answered. I followed his voice. I found him in a room obviously meant for him The Star Wars and out pace themes were a clear give away. “Look up mom.” He directed while pointing at the ceiling. I looked up and saw lots of stars that I was sure would glow in the dark. “That’s so cool bud!” I exclaimed. “You play in here while I get everything else together ok guy? He nodded. I left him in there and started my personal tour. The room next to his was a bathroom. His I would gather due to the continued Star Wars theme. Then I looked into the next room, which turned out to be a linen closet. The next room was my bedroom and bathroom. I rolled my eyes at the flowers on the nightstand. No doubt courtesy of Max. I would have to remember to toss those out later. The decor was simple and soft. Pastels. It would work well for now. The bathroom was a soft beach decor. One of my favorite places. Nice try yet again Max. I headed back to the living room and scoped out the kitchen. It was the brightest area in the home for sure. It was an okay sized apartment. Great for starting over. I spent the next few hours unpacking and cleaning things. We had some more boxes expected to arrive over the next few days, then hopefully this would begin to feel like home. I was exhausted. I called Max in and we ordered a pizza for dinner. Then we watched A New Hope until we both fell asleep.
