Dad's car stopped in front of Mum's little gate. I alighted from the car and he came down with me. He followed me. I loved that he was with me. I needed some kind of protection from Mum's rage. I bet she already heard of my expulsion. She was waiting for me on the front porch. I was terrified to get any closer to her. Dad tapped my shoulder, assuring me to go ahead.
