Roman was starting to get nervous, and when Roman gets nervous, bad things happen. Taylour’s activities on the murder case were starting to uncover the tracks that he had so desperately tried to hide. While he still felt confident that the information that the private investigator that she had hired would remain hidden, he was becoming increasingly worried that her zealous pursuit of the truth would expose him. It was like pulling on a thread. If you pulled on it long and far enough, the knitting unravels.
So it was with Roman. While his monitoring of her office was not revealing where Sarah was, it was showing how close she was getting to the truth, and her dogged persistence made him angry. But he knew how to get people to back off, and that is what he wanted her to do.
