CHAPTER 4 Moving in With him

The guards were taken aback when they saw the man and immediately stopped their actions. Even Christina and Sophia's expressions changed when they saw him. Christina was the first to react. She walked over to the man and smiled, "Assistant Johnson, why are you here? Did my brother send you? It's my wedding day, why isn't he here?" The man, Johnson glanced at her and then helped Rose, saying calmly, "The CEO asked me to come and pick up Miss Rose." He paused and then added, "Miss Christina, I need to remind you that you are the daughter of the Jones family. Your every move is being watched by the media, especially on such an occasion today. Your actions will bring shame not only to the Jones family but also to the CEO. Please be more careful in the future and do not let such incidents happen again." "I...Christina wanted to say something, but Johnson ignored her and turned to ask Rose, "Are you alright?" Rose recognized him as the CEO's general assistant. He had been with Jones Enterprise for many years and was said to be the one the CEO trusted the most. She was surprised that Brandon had sent him to pick her up. Rose gritted her teeth to endure the pain and replied softly, "I'm fine, thank you, Mr. Johnson." Johnson looked down at the injury on her face, his face darkened, and then he said, "The CEO is waiting for you. Let's go." At this point, how could Rose dare to say anything else? She nodded quickly, "Okay." As long as she could leave here, it was better than anything else. Christina and Sophia were both terrifying and if she stayed here, she would be dismembered sooner or later. When Johnson helped Rose to the door, he suddenly stopped and said to Christina, "Starting tomorrow, Rose is appointed as the CEO's secretary. Miss Christina, please arrange for someone else to take her place as soon as possible." "What?" Christina was surprised and said anxiously, "I have already fired her..." Before she could finish the sentence, Johnson had already taken Rose away. Central City Hospital. Rose was undergoing an examination when the door of the treatment room was pushed open. She looked up and saw Brandon entering with a gloomy expression. He scrutinized her from head to toe, his gaze dark and silent for a long time. Rose felt a bit frightened under his gaze and lowered her head, not daring to look at him. After a long while, Brandon finally turned to the doctor who was treating Rose and asked in a deep voice, "How is she?" The doctor put the disinfectant cotton into the treatment box and then said, "There's nothing serious, just some external injuries. I've already applied medicine earlier, and she'll be fine in a few days." Brandon breathed a sigh of relief and then asked, "Does she need to be hospitalized?" "No, she just needs to rest at home." The doctor gave him a prescription, saying, "I'll prescribe some medication. Once you've picked up the medicine, you can go home." After the doctor left, Brandon looked at Rose for a long time. The anger he had felt earlier disappeared when he saw Rose injured like this. He sat beside the bed and gently tucked Rose's hair behind her ears, asking softly, "Does it hurt?" Rose shook her head and said, "It doesn't hurt." Seeing her in such a state despite her injuries, Brandon felt both annoyed and heartbroken. After a long silence, he embraced her and gently stroked her head with his slender fingers, his voice soft, "Don't worry, I will help you get revenge." Upon hearing this, Rose hurriedly refused, "I don't mind anymore, Mr CEO, please don't pursue this matter. Let's consider it in the past." It wasn't that Rose wanted to play the role of a good person, but she understood that she had no power or influence in Madison. She was no match for Christina and Sophia. Today's incident allowed them to vent their anger, but at the same time, Brandon also publicly humiliated Christina. If they were to dwell on this matter, she would be the one to suffer in the future. She didn't know what the relationship between Sophia and Brandon was, but she hadn't forgotten Sophia's extreme reaction when she saw Brandon call her. She also remembered Sophia's warning her to stay away from Brandon. In this place, she couldn't seek justice for herself; she could only try her best to protect her own safety. Of course, she didn't know why Brandon was helping her, but she had to persuade him not to trouble Sophia. "In the past?" Brandon sneered, his face turning cold, his voice as icy as frost, "My woman cannot suffer even a little grievance. No one who has harmed you should think they can get away with it." Rose lowered her head, feeling somewhat guilty. Was yesterday really just an accident? Could he have taken it seriously? It shouldn't be. A man like Brandon could have any woman he wanted. How could he be interested in someone like her? After hesitating for a moment, Rose said, "Mr. Brandon, yesterday... yesterday was an accident. Once I find a place to live, I will move out. Please don't take it seriously." Brandon looked at her deeply, his cold lips slightly curved, his voice calm and gentle, showing no concern for her words, "Hmm, I won't take it seriously." Rose face brightened, "Really?" "I won't take it seriously, but you have to take responsibility for me," he replied. "Uh..." Rose was stunned by his words. Take responsibility? But she had no recollection of what happened yesterday. Just as Rose was feeling embarrassed and unsure of what to do, Johnson came back with the medicine, saying, "CEO, the medicine is ready." "Okay." Brandon stood up and said in a deep voice, "Inform the personnel department that Gary doesn't need to come to work tomorrow." Johnson was not surprised by this decision at all and nodded in response, "Yes, I will inform them right away." "Mr CEO..." Rose was about to speak, but Brandon interrupted her, saying, "I don't want to hear you plead for another man." "I didn't..." Rose weakly uttered a sentence. She wasn't pleading for Gary, she just didn't want to bring trouble upon herself. She was a bit timid, but not foolish. She understood that if Gary were fired, Christina would hold her responsible. Ignoring her, Brandon turned to Johnson and said, "Go and bring the car." Johnson acknowledged and walked towards the door. However, he suddenly stopped and turned back, saying, "When I brought Miss Rose here earlier, without your consent, I privately appointed her as your personal secretary." Brandon paused for a moment, a smile forming at the corners of his mouth. He said, "You still understand me the best." Johnson smiled, then turned around and left. In the evening, at the Jones family mansion. Rose looked at the grand and majestic place before her, with several maids standing by. Her mind went blank for a moment. She had never imagined that one day she would be able to live in such a place. It felt like a dream. "Madam, we have already organized your belongings and placed them in the wardrobe. Please rest for a while. Dinner will be served when the master returns." An older maid who seemed to be the leader spoke kindly to Rose, without any hint of arrogance. Rose nodded slightly, feeling a bit uneasy. "Thank you." After coming out of the hospital at noon, Brandon took her to have lunch and then sent her back to the villa. He went to the company, leaving her alone with the maids, who were looking at each other in confusion. That wasn't the main issue. The problem was that she wanted to unpack her suitcase by herself, but the maids refused to let her do it. They said that Brandon had given instructions that if she were to do anything herself, their jobs would be at stake. The key problem was that they kept calling her "Madam," which made Rose feel embarrassed. She repeatedly told them that she wasn't Brandon's wife, but they still called her that. Helpless, Rose could only let it be. Rose didn't know what to do, whether to do something or not. She spent the whole afternoon wandering around the mansion, feeling extremely bored. Just when she felt incredibly awkward and didn't know what to do, Brandon came back. Seeing her sitting on the couch in a daze, he glanced at the food on the table and took off his suit jacket while handing it to the maid. He asked, "Why haven't you eaten yet?" Upon hearing this, one of the maids' expression changed, and she hurriedly explained, "We thought you were going to have dinner with Madam, so we made her wait." Rose had just moved in and was afraid that Brandon would blame the maids because of this, so she quickly said, "I chose to wait; it's not their fault." Brandon pulled her into his embrace and then said to the older maid, "You don't have to wait for me in the future. If Madam is hungry, let her eat first." The maid nodded hastily. "We understand." At the dining table, Rose looked at the table full of delicious food but couldn't taste any of it. Suddenly, she was living in this unfamiliar place, with her big boss as her roommate, who could understand her frustrations. Halfway through the meal, Rose put down her spoon and glanced at the busy maid beside her. She wanted to say something but didn't dare. Glancing at her, Brandon asked casually, "Do you have something to say?" After hesitating for a moment, she nodded. "Yes." "Go ahead, you don't have to hold back here." After hesitating for a moment, she still spoke up. "Can you ask them not to call me 'Madam'?" "You already are," Brandon curved his lips, looked at her, and smiled. "You will be sooner or later." Rose's eyes widened. "But we are not married yet," she thought for a moment and said. "We will be eventually," Brandon smiled and said, "You just haven't gotten used to it yet. Listen to it a few more times, and you'll be fine." Rose looked up at the ceiling. She had never seen such an unreasonable man before. There was simply no way to communicate with him! She didn't want to continue the conversation anymore. She lowered her head and quietly ate her meal. After a while, she had already finished about half of the bowl of rice. "Are you planning to eat that bowl as well?" With a chilly tone, Rose was startled by the sound of his voice. She looked up and saw Brandon glaring at her. "Mr Brandon..." Rose felt embarrassed and couldn't help but feel nervous, not knowing what she did wrong. "I told you to call me Brandon." His tone was displeased, but he had already picked up a big piece of meat and put it in her plate. "Don't just eat rice, taste these dishes too. Thelma's cooking is good." "Oh, okay." Rose hurriedly nodded. It was only now that she noticed that almost all the dishes on the table were her favorites. Could it be that this man even investigated her dietary preferences? "By the way, where will I sleep tonight? Which room is mine?" she remembered the main issue and asked quickly. Brandon looked at her and said, "They already said you are the Madam, so of course, you will stay with me." His tone was domineering, allowing no room for objections. Rose felt a bit unwilling. "Can I..." "No!" After dinner, the two of them went upstairs to rest together. Rose took her pajamas and went to the bathroom to freshen up, while Brandon flipped through the company's recent reports and dealt with some business matters on the bed. The bathroom door opened, and Rose walked out. "Um, I'm done. You can use the bathroom now." Upon hearing these words, Brandon lifted his head from a pile of reports and looked at the girl in front of him wearing a pink fluffy sleepwear. She was anxiously twisting her fingers. She had just taken a bath, and her cheeks were flushed from the hot steam in the bathroom. She looked like a ripe fruit, exuding a sweet scent, as if waiting to be picked. Brandon had a thought and beckoned her with his finger, "Come here." His voice was somewhat low and hoarse, as if suppressing something. Rose hesitantly moved closer. As soon as she came within Brandon's reach, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her down onto the bed, leaning over her. "Mr Brandon, don't do this..." Rose was not used to being in such close contact with him. Her face instantly turned hot, and she instinctively wanted to push him away. "This is the last time." He lifted her chin with his hand, making her look into his eyes. "If you call me by the wrong name again next time, I'll just kiss you directly." Rose saw the seriousness in his eyes and knew that he wasn't joking with her, so she quickly changed her words, "Brandon." "Make your tone softer." "Brandon..." "Make the ending more flirtatious." Rose gritted her teeth, almost grinding them together. "Brandon~" This time, before she finished speaking, Brandon had already lowered his head and captured her lips. "Mmm..." Rose widened her eyes as she looked at his handsome face up close. "This is your reward," Brandon smiled and pinched her chin. "Little girl, you have three months. Within these three months, you must fall in love with me."
