CHAPTER 3

Eira POV “Are you expecting a guest?” The receptionist asked, and I glared at her. Why would she ask such a foolish question? I booked a room, and you're asking that. “No, I am not. Can you give me the keys now?” I asked in a sassy manner. “What? It's Valentine's Day, and I thought since you have dreams of becoming the Luna, you might want to—" “Shut it right there before I get you arrested,” I shunned her. My heart raced so fast as I wondered how many people knew about this. How many people got the whole thing wrong? Kieran didn't even bother to correct them. She handed over the keys to me with a smirk on her face. Yeah, yeah, she won. I dragged the key forcefully, pulling her hand intentionally in the process, before marching towards the elevator. “Lovers day, my foot!” I stumped my foot to the ground immediately after I got into the elevator. There were people with me, but I care less. “What says love is real? That sh*t doesn't even exist anymore,” I muttered. Closing my eyes, I tried to calm myself down when I saw the eyes. When I got to the floor where my room was, I marched out angrily from the elevator. I threw my bag on the bed before making my way into the bathroom. I dropped my clothes and went into the bathtub to relax. I sighed in satisfaction before I closed my eyes. My body still aches from sleeping on the floor in the cell, and my buttocks still ache from the fall back at the pack hall. But laying here in the bathtub, I was relieved. My thoughts drifted to the event that happened yesterday and all I had to go through. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I sobbed. Taking in a mouth full of air, I opened my eyes and wiped my tears. I came out of the bathtub filled with foam and went into the shower. No more thinking about it, so I don't drown in my sorrow when they are busy enjoying their lives. Maybe I should try to enjoy my life as well. Stepping out of the shower, I wrapped myself in a towel before heading out of the bathroom. I knew what to do. I searched my bag for a nice gown and wore it before walking out of the room. I should drink and get drunk. I got to the floor, where I heard the party being held for lovers. I am not a fan of love; I was only going there to drink away my sorrow and forget my problems. “Two bottles, please.” I ordered and dropped some cash, but the bar attendant said with a smile, “All the drinks have been paid for by the latest couple in town, so it's free for you." Wow! That's good “God bless those couples,” I replied, taking back my money and placing it back in my purse. I didn't bother to walk away from the bar; I sat there and began to drink. Sipping the drink from a glass, I watched the people dance, talk, flirt, and laugh. I just sat there watching other people's lives move while mine was paused. My face formed a smile as I watched them, only to stiffen when my eyes caught sight of Kieran and Elana. What were they doing here?! Fuck! I quickly turned my eyes, but they had seen me. It looked like they already saw me before I caught sight of them. s**t! I gulped down the entire glass in anger before pouring myself more. Soon, I had emptied two bottles of alcohol. “Can I get more?” I asked the attendant. “Sure! Like I said, they are all paid for by the latest couple in town.” He replied excitedly. My left eye twitched as it finally dawned on me who must have paid for it. Damn! “Who?” I asked with a dried throat. "Them,” he replied, and as he pointed to Kieran and Elara, my heart dropped. I hate them; I f*****g do. My eyes remained on them, and Elana moved from where she was sitting to sit on Kieran's thighs. He kissed her cheek, and she smiled. My lips twitched in irritation. She looked like she was whispering something to him; his hands that used to hold my waist now hold hers in a tight hug. f**k! I turned my gaze away and downed another glass of wine. In anger, or was it irritation, I took about three more bottles before staggering up. f**k them! f**k all of them!!! I staggered to the elevator, tears rolling down my cheeks. My eyes were beginning to hurt from continuous crying. When I got to my room, I slammed the door shut in anger and dove onto the bed. “Arghhhhhhh!” I screamed in pain. “Arghhhh! f**k! f**k! f**k! Moon goddess, you did that on purpose! You did it on purpose! Why do you hate me so much? Why?” I yelled. I didn't care who was hearing me or who I was disturbing. I just wanted to get the frustration out. “First you took my parents and made me an orphan, then my man, my best friend, and now you want them to rub it on my face? I see what you're doing, the moon goddess. I see” The next time I got on my feet, it was to park my things. I wouldn't stay one more night in this hotel. Yes, I was tipsy, but I wouldn't sleep in the hotel. Who knows, they might be the ones who booked the next room; the receptionist wouldn't mind granting them that favor just to taunt me some more. ‘Where would we sleep?’ My wolf asked me, and I spat out, “Anywhere was better than here!” Hanging my bag on my shoulder, I made my way out of the hotel, staggering. My eyes weren't steady, but I refused to stay. Nothing was clear, but I still moved. Soon, the fresh air slapped my skin, and I knew I was finally outside the suffocating hotel. Marching boldly, like I knew where I was going, I headed right and began to walk. I paused, then turned back and began heading to the left. I was close to the hotel when a car screeched behind me, causing me to fall on my buttocks again! “Ouch!” I groaned. I didn't get to settle before I was roughly picked up from the ground. I was floating in the air for a while before I was quickly thrown into the car like a fly. “Hey! Who are you? Hey!” I yelled but was quickly shut down by a smelly cloth covering my nose and mouth. Soon, I found myself enveloped in total darkness.
