Fighting the enemy

JASMINE’S POV

As me and Kirsty were finishing burning the rest of the rogues bodies we saw our father walking over to us and immediately turned.

I mind-linked Kirsty and said “something is up father has his serious face on”, then he came over and helped us burn what was left of the dead rogues, he then told us to go and meet up with Shania.

I went to object but I decided against it after the look he gave me and Kirsty, as we started to walk into the forest, we started to shift into our wolves and the clothes we were wearing started to rip.

As we changed into our wolves I started to get a stronger scent and what I smelt made me mind-link Kirsty, I said to her “do you smell that it smells like rogues I think we should go check it out. “I agree, let’s go” said Kirsty, short and blunt, as we ran after the scent of the rogues we ended up at the human Simone’s house.

We changed back into our human body and went to knock on her door, she came to the door scared and worried but smiling Simone said “ Connors out the back waiting for you Kirsty”, hi Jasmine.

We looked at her and Kirsty said “we are here for Shania, Simone, is everything ok we couldn’t smell her.” Simone looked at us weird and with worry and said “what do you mean you can’t find her she left half an hour ago Connor said I fainted and she brought me here and left because your father called I’m worried where is she”.

I interrupted her and said “Simone just calm down we will find her she is our sister we will smell her and whoever has her will not be left alive”. As I said that she then looked at me in fear but also in happiness knowing that her best friend would be found.

As we left Simone’s, Connor and Kirsty said goodbye to each other we then ran into the woods and shifted into our wolves. I mind-linked Kirsty I asked her if she could smell Shanias scent because I couldn’t, but I could smell someone else’s that smelt familiar like I had smelt it in my past but was unsure who’s it was.

Kirsty took charge in the forest as we were just about at the meeting place for Shania, then a rogue stepped out and Kirsty and I stood side by side ready to kill the rogue until he changed back to his human form Kirsty and I growled but every instinct in my body was shouting MATE MATE MATE.

No i thought to myself this can’t be happening this is wrong, who is he wait Shania. As I mind linked Kirsty I told her “ he’s my mate I want him alive, also we need him alive for Shania let’s capture him and take him back to the pack house but please don’t tell father he’s my mate he’ll go crazy because he’s a rogue please.”

Kirsty looked at me then at the rogue who didn’t take his eyes off me his dark sky-blue eyes with that look so fierce, then I looked back at him with disgust but also curiosity about why the moon goddess would pair me with someone like this someone like a rogue.

I said to him while I was in my human form “you will come back with us to our pack house but you will be put in the dungeon like the rogue you are”.

He changed his look at me in shock not knowing what he was thinking I went to grab him but he turned into his wolf and ran.

Before he could get too far Kirsty caught him and pinned him down, I yelled out “DON’T HURT HIM” and he looked at me in surprise. I looked at him back with surprise too that those words came from my mouth. I thought to myself I didn’t care about this rogue but maybe I care just a little bit that I don’t want to see him get hurt. Kirsty’s wolf looked at me she mind linked me and said “are you ok I thought you didn’t care about him it looked that way” so I mind linked back “I don’t but my wolf side does I can’t help it just be careful with him please but bring him to the dungeons I’ll talk to him”. As we were about to leave to take him to the dungeon and question him about Shania he talked and yelled “ATTACK” and about ten soldiers came out and we were surrounded by these armed guards that were somehow blocked from our scent. As Kirsty mind-linked me she said “remember all our training we went through”.

Flashback 10 years ago to when I was 7 we had our pack all together and Kirsty, Shania and I were all in front of the pack with our father like a normal day our mother wasn’t there but our father was at the front of the pack standing with us as he started talking in his big voice he walked around and told everyone to get in formation ready for training. He came over to Kirsty, Shania and I and told us to go to a group of the pack and join in with them as we walked off we joined the rest of the pack in training being the alpha’s daughters we had already started training younger then most so we knew what we were doing compared to the rest of the pack members. We got in the middle of the pack and started to fight four pack members each at a time father said when we got our wolf the training would get harder but we still must learn to fight in human form in case we are in front of humans as we finished training we were all sore and all went inside.

Returning to the present I thought about what Kirsty said and what father taught us both human form and wolf form and then all of a sudden the fighting started but my mate just stayed back and let his wolves fight for him all while fighting I thought about Kirsty’s words I thought you didn’t care about him but to be honest I did just as I thought about that a wolf went to attack me and I turned and bit his neck and broke it as I watched my mate look at me in horror I realised he might never accept a female warrior and he fled. I went to chase him and Kirsty mind-linked me and said “we will get him let’s just finish off these wolves so they don’t hurt our pack or anyone else” and we did.

Afterwards we followed my mate’s scent which smelt like dirt and bark from the trees it was very arousing to me because it was stronger to me I led the way and found him as I saw him he was alone and vulnerable with that I mind-linked Kirsty and said “he shouldn’t be any trouble but we can’t underestimate him when we get to him we need to make him change to human so we can bring him back and tell him about Shania.”

Then we both started running and he shifted into human and said “I will come you don’t have to force me I know you were going to”. Me and Kirsty stopped in our tracks and looked at each other and knew something was up so Kirsty mind-linked me and together we decided it would be best if she changed back into human as our emotions and the bond mate would get the best of me and my wolf, so as Kirsty walked towards my mate in her wolf form I shifted back behind the trees and grabbed clothes from under a bush then got dressed.

Then we headed back in silence with my mate ahead of Kirsty and me behind Kirsty as we arrived we took him to the dungeon and locked him up and he finally spoke with venom in his voice “so I surrender and this is how I get treated some mate you are just wait the worst is yet to come”.
