WAKING UP

SHANIA’S POV

As I opened my own eyes I was in a bed that I did not recognise, a place I did not recognise and I got out of bed and looked in the mirror and did not recognise who I was and I screamed. All of a sudden a woman who looked at me with a concerning look on her face ran in but for some reason this look didn’t seem that real to me as she walked over to me I backed up and I said “who are you, where am I and who am I.” As soon as I said that she looked at me in what seemed real concern and then said “you don’t remember anything darling, you don’t remember what happened yesterday, and the fight that happened oh my poor darling girl”.

As she said that I looked at her with wide eyes, fight what fight what happened yesterday, I have to get answers but not from this person I’ve got a bad feeling but I don’t know where I am or my own name so I’ll have to try and escape when I can. As I looked at the woman I went to ask her a question but she said “no darling I’ll answer all your questions just not right now we have to get ready for dinner don’t you remember who’s coming tonight oh you don’t sorry my dear we will fix that ahaha”.

As I got ready for dinner I had to wear high heels that were as tall as 7 inches a dress that was tightly wrapped around my body with gold and silver sparkles and my hair curled and flowing around my shoulders I didn’t recognise who I was but now that I think about it I look like the lady who I was talking to could she be my mother. As the lady came in I asked her “are you my mother” and right before answering she froze then unfroze and looked at me with a smile and said “honey do you have your memory back ohh that’s so great”. As I went to answer her she cut in and said “okay now since you have your memory back you probably remember those wolves you were fighting the two girls that made you lose your memory I don’t want to nearly lose you again so you aren’t to leave understand”. But as I was about to argue she gave me a look that made me think otherwise and I said “yes mother” and she grinned and it gave me chills I thought to myself that can’t be normal can it.

UNKNOWN POV

As I was training the new recruits to protect themselves and the gates for what we were guarding I got this strange feeling that someone was in danger and I needed to go help them but it then went away so I continued training the younger recruits who had not transformed into their wolves yet although they hadn’t they were hand picked directly by me being the alpha and how much skill they had and what they showed in agility and speed.

As we continued I got that feeling again but more urgently so I sent the recruits inside and mind linked my beta to do some research on this feeling I was getting and he went off to do what he needed to do to find out what was going on while I went for a run in the trees and dirt lands that surrounded the castle we were protecting.

As I went for a run I got the most amazing scent it smelt like coconut, vanilla and myrtle and it smelt amazing, I ran towards it but there was a barrier that stopped me as I tried to push past it I got pushed back and slammed into a tree and my wolf bran got hurt.

I mind-linked my Beta and Delta to come here right away and no sooner that I did they were there 15 minutes later and I explained and then showed them what was happening except getting bounced back into a tree I refrained from mentioning the smell that I smelt because it had been so long and didn’t wanna get my hopes up and think I had found my mate.

My beta said I should talk to the previous alpha to see if he has ever dealt with anything like this but my delta said to talk to the shaman as they have more experience in this area both were good suggestions but I also didn’t want three to think I alone couldn’t handle this as the alpha alone in fact this was my first year as the alpha and the shaman and previous alpha were both of my parents.

I said to my beta and delta “I thank you for both your advice but here’s what’s going to happen I’m going to talk to them as a last resort you two are going to go around this whole barrier and see how big it is and see how far it is and I’m going to go to the library and see everything there is on barriers and sleeps and everything on breaking them report back to me when you have covered it remember the whole circle one go one way the other the way understand” and they both said “yes Alpha”.

As they started on the barrier I went to the library to look at books on powerful barriers and then I started think back on that wonderful smell of myrtle,vanilla and coconut and then had to remember to concentrate on the books if I wanted to see if it was my mate behind that barrier so I concentrated and a few hours later I got a mind-link from my beta and delta saying they had gone around the whole thing and I told them to come to me.

I am in the library when they said they were on their way I packed away all the books they were there standing behind me and my beta Dominic noticed I left a book out on barriers and spells and asked me about it. I said to him “ I am going to perform a spell that will let me try to undo the barrier and go inside there quietly and so nobody can see me”. As he opened his mouth he said “as your beta I can’t say anything but as your best friend you are being stupid we are your pack and we are going with you spell it no spell” when he said that I knew that I’d made both the right and wrong decision of doing this on my own but what if I found my mate no one else in this pack had would they be jealous or happy and I didn’t want to tell them because I didn’t want to upset them but instead I said “we will talk to the shaman but first report what news about the barrier”.

My delta Cameron said “it goes all the way into another packs territory but they didn’t notice us there when we were looking at the barrier we were scarce and from what we can tell they also don’t know it is there because they are looking for someone who is missing from their pack but we are not sure who it is”.

As he said this I got my hopes up but I also got worried what if my mate is missing and why couldn’t I sense her if she was not that far away I said to my beta and delta “i think it’s time to introduce ourselves to this other pack but only us three the recruits can stay behind until we are ready to attack and the pack needs to stay hidden”.
