The Attraction
Episode 1 Harrison Grant, the young and charismatic President, sat at his desk, signing documents. Sophia Patel, his beautiful and intelligent personal assistant, stood by his side. As he signed the last document, their hands touched, and Harrison felt a spark of electricity. He looked up, meeting Sophia's gaze. For a moment, they just stared at each other. Sophia broke the silence, "Mr. President, your schedule for the day?" Harrison cleared his throat, "Ah, yes. The meeting with the Joint Chiefs." As the day went on, Harrison couldn't shake off the feeling of attraction towards Sophia. He found himself stealing glances at her, admiring her poise and beauty. During the meeting, Harrison caught himself wondering what Sophia's lips would feel like against his. After the meeting, Harrison called Sophia into his office. "Sophia, I need to ask you something." "Yes, Mr. President?" Sophia replied, her eyes locked on his. Harrison hesitated, "Never mind. It's not important." Sophia smiled, "If it's not important, then why did you call me in here, Mr. President?" Harrison's heart raced. He knew he was playing with fire, but he couldn't help himself. "I just wanted to see you," he said, his voice low. Sophia's expression changed, a hint of surprise, a dash of curiosity. And then, she left, leaving Harrison wondering what just happened. Later that day, Sophia walked into Harrison's office, a folder in her hand. "Mr. President, the briefing papers for tomorrow's meeting with the Senate." Harrison looked up, his eyes locking onto hers. "Thank you, Sophia." As she approached his desk, the air seemed to thicken, the tension between them palpable. Sophia handed him the folder, their fingers touching again. This time, Harrison didn't pull away. Sophia's eyes fluttered closed, her breath catching in her throat. Harrison's heart raced, his pulse pounding in his ears. For a moment, they just stood there, the world around them melting away. Then, Sophia's eyes snapped open, and she stepped back, a flush rising to her cheeks. "I'll let you review those, Mr. President." Harrison nodded, his voice low. "Thank you, Sophia. That'll be all." As she turned to leave, Harrison's eyes followed her, his gaze burning with intensity. Sophia felt his eyes on her, her skin prickling with awareness. She knew she had to be careful, but she couldn't deny the attraction between them. As she closed the door behind her, Harrison let out a slow breath, his mind reeling with thoughts of Sophia. The tension between them was building, and Harrison wasn't sure how much longer he could resist. Sophia walked through the front door of her family's cozy home, dropping her bag on the floor. Her mom, Nalini, and younger sister, Ria, sat in the living room, watching TV. "Hey, beta!" Nalini said, using the Hindi term of endearment. "How was your day?" Sophia smiled, kissing her mom's cheek. "It was good, Mom. Just busy with work." Ria, who was 12, looked up at Sophia with wide eyes. "Sophia, can you help me with my math homework? Pleeease?" Sophia laughed, sitting down beside her sister. "Of course, Ria. Let me take a look." As they worked on the homework, Nalini watched her daughters with a warm smile. "Sophia, how's the President? Is he treating you well?" Sophia's expression turned neutral, careful not to reveal too much. "He's fine, Mom. Very demanding, but I can handle it." Nalini raised an eyebrow. "Be careful, beta. You know how powerful men can be." Sophia nodded, knowing her mom's concerns stemmed from their own struggles as immigrants. After finishing the homework, Sophia helped with dinner, her mind wandering back to Harrison and the charged moments they shared. As they sat down to eat, Ria asked, "Sophia, can I ask you something?" "Of course, Ria," Sophia replied. "Do you like your boss? You know, the President?" Sophia's heart skipped a beat. How much did Ria know? "I...respect him, Ria. He's my boss." Ria grinned mischievously. "I knew it! You have a crush on him!" Sophia's face flushed, and Nalini intervened, "Ria, that's enough. Sophia, ignore her teasing." But Sophia knew Ria's words struck a little too close to the truth.
