Every few words not translating through the mind link, Ark had at least heard the address loud and clear dictating it through his own mind link to every group out searching and some. That place would be ripped apart, nothing would stand in his way, not buildings, nor people or supernatural’s. His little brother was coming home, and someone was going to pay for their mistake. Continuing to yell inside Ark’s mind, Darius’ fear rippled through the mind link flowing through to his brother clearly. The fear and fractured memories and sounds echoing inside Ark’s mind, he tried to focus intently on the faltering linking. Having gotten all the information he needed. “They did things to… she… hurt Ark.”
Amazed that the Darius was mind linking at all, Ark was so proud until the panic and fear flooded through the connection. Calm was usually the way he presented, the way he led his pack, but this whole situation had his wolf scratching through his skull threatening to break out and take over. “Darius.” Ark’s tone commanding he called to his little brother demanding his full attention. “Darius we are coming, I need you to sit tight and protect yourself. We will help the others, but you are my priority. Stay safe! Hide if you can.”
Hearing nothing back from Darius, Ark could only assume his understood and was following orders. Arlo taking off in front of him, Ark picked up the pace matching his speed. Getting there would be fastest in wolf form than any other they could acquire in a timely fashion. The few hours it took to travel there gave them the perfect opportunity to gather more information and mobilize as many warriors and medical teams as possible. From the gist Ark was getting from Darius, there were others and some were injured.
Arlo linking to Ark as they were sprint along side each other. “Alpha.” Using honorifics, Ark was immediately wary of what was to come. Arlo words trickling through, Ark pushed himself harder and faster in response. The words echoing through his mind once again, “it is a known supernatural s*x trafficking house. It’s owned by Angus.”
Madison’s head throbbing, screams were sounding loudly filling the room and her mind as she shrank away. The mattress springs creaking with her movements, a close by shriek pierced her ears. “Madi!” Little hot hands latching onto her arm, she could smell him before she even opened her eyes, Darius. Reaching her hand to touch her head, it seemed like the bleeding had slowed as sticky coagulating blood covered her fingers. Letting out a short groan, Madison stayed in her upright position as Darius clung to her with more strength. “They are here Madi, my brothers are here to get us. Just wait a little longer.”
The screams and yelled growing louder, Madison winced as Darius stayed in place on the soiled mattress as crashing, slamming doors, growls and thumping feet sounded from above. It appeared to be growing more intense and closer by the second until it was evident people were in the basement. Suddenly gripping Darius, Madison pulled him behind herself as the door flew open and off the hinges crashing to the floor in a pile of slinters. A black haired, green eyed bigger version of Darius walked in. His eyes flying to Madison, Arlo almost backtracked out of the room as Darius’ head popped up from behind her shoulder.
Lurching forward, Arlo gripped Darius pulling him to his chest. “God damn it Darius, don’t you ever run off again you hear. I thought Ark was going to start a bloody war when he found out you were missing. “Now are you hurt?” Arlo’s eyes flickering up and down Darius in concern as he held him out from his body, Darius kicked his legs and swung his arms wildly trying to escape the hold.
“Put me down Arlo!” At the peaking of Darius’ voice, Madison’s head shot up as she forced herself from the bed toward his shrill voice. A sharp pain ripping through her mind, she fell to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Appearing unconscious, Darius fell and was running to her side when Arlo caught his arm once more. Slinging Darius over his shoulder, Arlo made moments exiting the foul smelling dank room. “NO! Stop, you can’t leave her!”
A hard breath leaving Arlo, he felt a pang of irritation at the hostility Darius was displaying toward him. Ignoring Darius’ protests, he eventually made another comment to try and subdue his bad temper. “Just stay still. Ark’s orders are to get you first, someone else will come and get the rest of them.”
Darius’ screams sounding down the hallway, Madison groaned out finally realising it was his brother that came for him. That was perfect really, no running into her mate, and she was free. Managing to get back to her feet, Madison hobbled down the hall clutching her head at the pain still torturing her mind. Reaching the stairs, Madison almost wanted to ignore the call and go up them, to just leave this place… but. One step up, she paused before turning back as her blood boiled with need.
Darius safe, the pain aside, only one thing mattered now. Ignoring, slapping away and dodging people as she went, Madison made her way to a hallway closet. The one with the downstairs box, the one with her lifeline. Finding the box, she could feel her body growing excited, her body growing more alert and alive as she stepped forward popping the lid without hesitation. Continuing to ignore the chaos around her, Madison indulged herself surpassing her limits and restrictions, half wanting to fall asleep and never wake back up.
