Madison’s face heating she gagged hard chocking on Rick’s c**k as the knot in her stomach became something more. Involuntarily, Madison’s stomach lurched as she chocked harder. Vomit flowing from her mouth, her body was released immediately as Dennis’ laughter filled the room. “Urgh, you dirty b***h!” Rick’s fist rammed into the back of her neck as her face was already buried in the soiled mattress.
The door ripped open, Rick all but ran from the room wanting to clean himself as Dennis followed after him with bouts of laughter booming through the space then down the corridor. The door pulled closed behind them and locked, Madison struggled to breath face down as pain rippled through her head. Unable to move, she lay broken as her body convulsed trying to suck in oxygen.
Darius standing to shaky knees, tears still marred his little face as he forced himself forward. His mind filled with horrible images of what he had witnessed, he could not help but think that he should have listened to his brothers. Then he should have listened to the girl they called Madi, he did try. Though when she whimpered out, he could hear her clearly even when covering his ears. Thinking he could help her he turned around, his heart lurching as fear ripped his little mind apart. All he could do was take little steps to the side finding the farthest corner in the room before sinking down to his knees and wailing like a baby. It was just like what Arlo said, that he would be a coward when in real danger.
“Madi.” His little voice timidly moving through the now silent room, he edged closer. Extending out his little hand, he touched the back of Madison’s naked body noticing her struggled for air. Taking a breath of courage, he pushed at her side to roll her body over. Successful as her body was beyond tiny and malnourished, she was near weightless. His heart throbbed as her face came into view. Like him, tears and puffy cheeks made up her expression. She protected him, she took all the pain, but when he looked into her eyes, Darius realized she was just as frightened as he was.
“WHERE IS HE?” Ark’s voice ripped from his throat in a growl as his chest constricted. His brother Arlo now almost trembling under his gaze, Ark asked again more calmly. “Where is Darius? Say it again?”
Arlo swallowing down, he tried to curb the sudden fear Ark provoked within him. Biting down he found as much courage as he could muster taking a step toward Ark. “He ran off Ark, what do you want me to do? Put him on a lead, maybe you should baby sit for once.”
Ark’s chest heaving up and down, he struggled to maintain control. Mind linking to his second, Atkin’s entered to room with caution. Eyeing the demeanour of the two brothers, Atkin’s nodded his head to Ark, “Alpha?”
“Darius is missing, use any and everyone. I want him found now.” Atkin’s eyes widening, even Ark could sense the anger building in Atkin’s as he turned viciously toward Arlo. Atkin’s teeth clenching he said nothing before he marched from the room. The mind link through the pack lit up as teams were formed in seconds and mobilized in search of little Darius. “Get up! You’re coming with me. We need to find him now! He cannot even mind link us if he gets into trouble.” Ark shoving Arlo down the corridor, they headed outside shifting and taking off into the woods. Ark reaching out to Darius via mind link, “Darius this is not a game, if you see anyone from our pack you show yourself immediately. You won’t be in trouble, I just need you home safe. Move out into the open so we can find you, we’re coming.”
Darius’ hand on Madi’s arm, he pulled at her softly. Propping her up at the top of the bed he almost whimpered as drops of blood slipped down her face from her head wound. “Madi… Madi… I’m scared, I don’t know what to do. What do I do?” The feeling of sickness turning her mind to mush, Madi struggled to open her eyes to even look at the little Darius rushing words out to her desperately. Peering into his glassy eyes, Madison felt a tug at her chest once more as her mate’s scent invaded her nose. Pushing herself to the limit, she reached out taking Darius into her thin arms. His body snuggling into her side. Darius’ body trembling within her light grip as his little voice sounded once more. “Ark is talking into my mind, he is coming, his will save us Madi.”
Reaching down, Madison gripped Darius’ chin soft yet firmly. Rattling off their address, Madison almost felt regret, how could she leave this now. Her deeds, her life was no longer something she desired to live. Her family, her friends, slowly they were fading from her memories. Imagining their disappointment, it was like a knife to the heart. Her voice hesitant, “repeat it to him, that is our location.” Madi may not have been able to leave, but she knew well where they were. Drugs or not, she could have mind linked for help herself years ago, but she cut herself off from the pack, a choice that sealed her fate after walking through that door.
“I… I… I can’t, I don’t know how.” An almost chuckle surfacing Madison in reaction, she coughed violently as a smile pulled at her lips. Tears pricking her eyes, her body was past it’s limit, she needed to get through this quickly.
Having had the same issues when she was little, she pushed herself further. She needed to help him, save Darius and her life would finally have meant something. “Darius close your eyes.” Obediently following Madison’s instructions Darius tightly shut his eyes. Madison’s voice calm and quiet, Darius already felt more at ease with her lax demeaner. “What do you see?”
“Black.” His voice so sharp and certain, Madison found a weak smile pulling at her lips once more.
“Perfect, now I want you to imagine hundreds of white strings, one is connected to your chest. Every other string is a pack member. I need you to imagine them standing in front of you.
“I SEE THEM!” Darius’ excited voice filling the room, Madison almost wanted to shush him but continued warily instead. This was her chance to get him home. To get herself away from Malcom, it was just the risk of seeing her mate. She needed to avoid seeing, finding him at all costs.
“Find your brother. Take his string in your hands and will your words into the string. Say them out loud, repeat them after me.” Once again dictating the address, Darius copied each one repeating them out loud.
“I.. I did it. He heard me.” Her smile faltering, Madison could feel the increasing heartbeat of Darius as she slipped into the darkness of unconsciousness. Too far, she had pushed too hard, but in her mind Darius was worth it. The only thing she could hear while slipping was her name ringing through the room, “Madi, you have to save Madi!”
