A half-hour later, Ben, Annie, and the three physicians had gathered around a conference speaker system perched on an oval-shaped table on the second floor of the administration building adjacent to the hospital. As promised, Nathan had found a safe place to park to be able to participate in the call, and Lizzie and Dr. Heming were sitting side-by-side at his conference room's table in San Angelo.
