Mira had been kneeling in the rain for hours. She was the only daughter of the Blackwood family living with her father and two brothers. Mira lived a life wrapped in silk and protected by steel—the pampered jewel of the Blackwood family.” But pampering hadn’t meant helplessness. Her father and brothers had made sure she could survive without them if she ever needed to. They’d sent her abroad to further her education, confident she would return even stronger. He always spent the night out with her and then blamed it on one family problem or another. As usual, Mira went for her monthly check-up. She had asked Lucas to come with her, but as usual, he was busy. She took a cab to the hospital and, after waiting for a few minutes, she did her check-up. The results came out, and she was perfectly fine. Her baby also had no complications. The doctor told her to stay away from stress as it could be harmful to both her and the baby. She also told her that, all things being equal, she would give birth to her child in 2 months. She left the hospital and stood at the side of the road waiting for her cab to pull up. After standing for a while, a cab finally pulled up. She entered but felt strange. The man was looking at her weirdly with an evil grin on his face. Soon, they were on the road, and she started feeling drowsy and eventually went unconscious. When she woke up, she was tied up to a chair with some guys surrounding her.
