"Who are you guys? What do you want with me?" she said, making the guys just grunt as they approached her.

"Please, I'll double your pay, just release me," she begged.

"Tempting offer, but you have offended someone you shouldn't have", a man who looked like their leader said. He was a tall, muscular man who had tattoos all over his arms. There was also a mean scar on his face that instilled more fear in her.

Suddenly, the door to the warehouse opened, revealing Lucas and Eva, who walked elegantly into the room.

"Lucas, Eva, you're here to save me. Please help me quickly," Mira begged, but Lucas just smirked dangerously at her.

"Hey, Mira", Lucas said.

“Boss,, the big, scary guy said. Mira turned to look at him in shock.

"Lucas, I thought you were here to save me. What's going on?" she asked, hoping it wasn't what she thought.

"Well, actually, I planned this all along. That day at the airport, I wasn't the one who saved you," he said, taking a dramatic pause.

Mira gasped in surprise. "What do you mean you weren't the one who saved me, but you were the one in the hospital when I woke up?" Mira said, tears brimming in her eyes.

"Well, let me tell you how it all happened. Years ago, I had looked you up after our first encounter at a restaurant and found out that you were a rich heiress, so I kept watching you, waiting for the right time, and then I found out you were going abroad to continue your studies in medicine, which put a dent in my plans. The attack at the airport was all my plan.

I had gotten wind about you returning to the country, so I hired some gangsters to attack you at the airport just to get your belongings and maybe hold you up for ransom. Along the line I had a change heart and decided to play 'hero' just to see where it would lead to but before I could get there, I saw that you had already been saved by a mysterious man who went somewhere to get help, so taking advantage of the opportunity I quickly took you to the hospital, so when you woke you thought I was the one who saved you which was perfect for me, then I made you believe that I had fallen in love with you and in turn made you fall in love with me."

Lucas stopped to make sure she was following and then continued with a wicked grin on his face while playing with a knife dangerously close to her.

"You see, the original plan was to get married to you for just a couple of years then get a divorce, that way I take half of your properties, but then you said you were pregnant which ruined our plans so I invited Eva over here so we could plan a different strategy to get your property this time around, but then you started suspecting us and we knew we had to act fast so we came up with a plan to Kidnap you. After all, you can't share properties with a dead person and that baby would die with you also. So there will be nobody to compete with me"

"Why?!!, but this is our baby, you can’t do this to me and our unborn child", Mira cried out in pain. The man she had loved for so many years shattered her heart into a million pieces, all for properties.

"U mean that bastard, well I think it's high time I tell you the truth about that thing. That thing in your belly isn't mine. I drugged you and sold you off to a business partner for a contract, but unfortunately, the guy I hired got the room number all mixed up, so you landed in the wrong person's room. Long story short, you and your child mean nothing to me," Lucas said coldly and then Mira realised that it was all a facade he was putting up all this time.

"Sorry, Mira, this plan was not meant to involve your child in it, but you just had to get pregnant, didn't you?" Eva said.

After that, Lucas brought out divorce papers from his bag and forced Mira to sign them.

With that, the thugs, along with Lucas and Eva, left with Lucas and Eva laughing wickedly.

"Burn them", Lucas said coldly.

One of the men poured kerosene around the chair she was sitting in, and Lucas personally lit the fire and threw it onto the kerosene, which immediately caught fire, forming a ring of fire around her. They left, leaving her to burn to death.

Mira let her tears fall freely. She should have listened to her brothers and dad. If she were given another chance in this life, she wouldn't make the same mistakes. Mira said in her heart.

With that, she closed her eyes, letting darkness take over.
