Title Chapter 1: A Rickshaw, A Dream, and an Unbreaka
Every great journey begins with a dream, and sometimes the most outstanding dreams come from the humblest places.
In one of the busy streets of Lahore, there lived a young girl named Ayesha. Poor Ayesha had neither parents nor relatives to take care of her. They both had no money to sustain their family. Bashir Ahmed, Ayesha’s father, was a rickshaw puller who had to work hard to earn a living.
The whole family lived in one room as Bashir had no money to arrange any furniture in the room. However, a family full of love and care was living without any luxury. ❤️
Every day, poor Bashir went to earn money through his old rickshaw. He had put his efforts to fulfill his daughter’s needs and to give her a better life than what he had.
His hands were full of wrinkles and old scars, but he still struggled to provide Ayesha with a bright future. For her father, she was not only his daughter but also his life.
Ayesha was an intelligent girl and always studied well. Other kids used to worry about their own lives, money, and how their parents would be able to arrange two square meals a day. On the contrary, little Ayesha used to see her parents struggling and save every penny that her mother could manage to save. While other kids enjoyed their childhood, she used to think about how she could take some burden off her parents’ shoulders.
Ayesha thought that she was not helpless and hopeless. She used to believe that she could do something for her family. Little did she know that her dreams were going to change her life in a matter of a few days. And that something was about to happen right then and there. Education would become her path out of poverty. As other kids played outside after the sun went down Ayesha would sit quietly under a light reading her textbooks for a long time into the night. Every page she turned made her feel closer to the future she wanted for herself and her parents.
She wanted a life for her parents as well as for Ayesha.
Her teachers noticed that Ayesha was very smart. Ayesha asked questions that made her teachers think she did her homework carefully and she always got the best grades in her class.
One of her teachers said to her, "You have a gift." He was very proud of Ayesha. "Do not let what happened in the past stop you from doing things" he told Ayesha.
Ayesha remembered what her teacher said. It made her feel strong.
Life was not easy for Ayesha outside of school.
Some of her classmates made fun of her school uniform, her worn out shoes and the fact that her father drove a rickshaw. They would say mean things to her in the hallways. Ayesha did not let it bother her.
Ayesha thought that the best way to answer them was to not to argue with them.
After some time Ayesha got scholarships and awards. She did very well in school. Every time Ayesha did something it made her father believe that his hard work would pay off and their lives would get better.
As Ayesha got older Ayesha wanted to do greater things.
Ayesha wanted to pass a hard exam, in Pakistan called the CSS exam and become a respected government officer. Many people thought that Ayesha could not do it because of where she came from.
For Ayesha it was just another challenge to overcome.
Every morning Ayesha went to college in her fathers rickshaw and on the way she saw houses, expensive cars and good schools. Ayesha did not fit in with those people. Ayesha always kept trying.
Ayesha was still sure that if she worked hard she could have opportunities that money could not buy.
Sometimes Bashir would see his daughter Ayesha. As long as he could breathe, he would do everything possible to protect his daughter's dreams. 🚖❤️. Neither of them knew that beyond the gates of one of Lahore's most prestigious colleges, jealousy was already waiting... and it would soon change their lives forever.
