Chapter 2

I sigh. It was a long day at Clip And Cuts. I had one client on my mind right now. I met him yesterday. He was so upset that his little niece had chopped a chunk of his beautiful long hair.
I did not blame him. He had beautiful hair. He normally saw Alihondro. But he was not here right now. He was on vacation. So I happened to be the one to help Jesse with his emergency cut.
The most horrible thing that happened He was checking himself out in the mirror on his bike. And not to far from the shop he crashed his bike. I called the hospital.
Then rode with him to the hospital. He had broken both his arms. He refused to allow me to call his family. So I stayed until he could later on go home. I drove him and dropped him off.
I have not heard from him sense. I hoped his little niece was alright. She would be heart broken. She was a little thing from what he told me about. He was furious with her.
But I was sure they would work it all out. I try to focus on work. I knew where Jesse lived. Maybe I could stop by with some free products we got in. We often gave them to clients.

"Something on your mind Skyler Reeves?" my coworker Jenelle Taylor asks me.
"Jesse!" I tell her.
"Oh Jesse, we all love it when he comes in. He is the best tipper" she gushes. "he also has the best hair. Well had" she jokes. "To bad he has a girlfriend"
"He does?" I sigh. "It figures" I grumble.
"You were there when he had that accident right?" she asks me.
I nod. "I helped him. I am just curious to see how he is doing" I admit.
"Someone has a little crush" she teases.
I am now blushing.
"I do not have a crush. I wanted to see how he was doing is all. Maybe I could stop by his home and offer some products that are free during his time of need" I scoff as I pull my long sandy blond hair up on top of my head.
"That is a good idea. After all he is dating not married" she points out.
I giggle. She does to.

"I wish I thought of that" Jenelle says.
"Do you mind if I leave a little early? To go check on him?" I ask her.
"Go for it. After all Jesse is one of our best customers" she praises him.
I was newer at Clip And Cuts. I had started working here for a month now. I was hoping to get back into nails. But that never happened. So for now I was doing hair. I enjoyed beauty and learning how to take care of people.
To make others feel beautiful to. Do not get me wrong I am not vain. I just think if people take care of themselves then they feel better about them. And that is our job. To help them feel beautiful on the outside.
I sweep the floor. Do a few extra things for Jenelle before getting ready to leave. We were slow today anyway. I would make up for the time later.
I gather up a few freebies and place them in a little bag we had to dish out. And hair brushes that were free to. There that would cheer him up. Maybe. And maybe I could get into his life more. At least be his friends.
Because if he ever broke things off with his lady then he would need a shoulder to cry on. Why could that not be me right? I clock out for the day. Then I head out. I get in my car set the goodie bag in my seat. Then head to Jesse's home. Where I knew he was at. I hoped I would not be stalkerish.
I park in front of the house. Nervous feelings come in me. I could do this. Nothing to it. I go up and ring the doorbell. A young girl answers the front door.

"Hi can I help you?" she asks me cheerfully.
"Is Jesse here?" I ask her.
"Oh uncle Jesse? Are you a girlfriend of his?" she wonders.
"No no just a lady from the hair salon. He left stuff before the other day and I had brought it by and oh never mind...." I ramble on nervously.
"Uncle Jesse!" the girl calls out. "one of your girlfriends are here to see you!"
"No I am not his girl" I say as I feel my cheeks blushing now.
"DJ I was trying to make lunch" says Jesse as he comes in a full upper body cast. His eyes light up when he sees me. "Hey Skyler!" he greets me.
"You forgot these the other day. I wanted you to have them." I say as I hand him the bag. He could not hold it. DJ takes if for him.
"That was really sweet of you" Jesse praises me. Now I am really blushing.
"How are you? I felt so bad when you crashed" I admit.
"I was really stupid to crash my bike" he sighs. "but they are fixing it"
"How about you? When will you be back to normal?" I ask him.
"In a month" he grumbles.
"Have a seat" DJ orders us and points to the couch.
Jesse and I sit down.

"I will get some drinks. Skyler what do you want to drink?" asks DJ.
"Ice water is fine" I answer.
"We have ice tea to" she offers.
"I won't be that long" I say with a smile.
"It is nice you stopped by. Thanks for the hair care products" Jesse rambles on.
"Well I have a confession, I wanted a reason to stop by and see you" I admit. I am blushing.
"I am glad you did" he praises me.
We smile at one another.
"I know you have a girlfriend. I won't get in the way. But I just had to know how you were doing. How is your niece?" I ask him.
"She thinks that she broke me" he explains. "she won't go near me" he tells me.
"You have to prove to her that she did not. And that you are not mad. I mean it was upsetting what happened. For you both. But she is fragile and she feels she did this all to you" I try to explain. "I have a younger sister. Two of them" I say. "I have dealt with this kind of thing before"
"I see" he says with a smile.
DJ comes back out with drinks for us. She helps uncle Jesse get a drink.

"Thanks DJ" he sighs.
"You are welcome uncle" she answers "do you need anything else?"
"No I am good" Jesse tells her.
"Break time" DJ says as she rushes up the stairs with her long curly brown hair bobbing up and down as she runs.
"Thanks for coming by Skyler" Jesse gratefully says. "my girlfriend has been a little to busy for me these days. I have been lonely and I did not want to burden her right now"
I smile. "Jesse if you need me call me sometime. We can always hang out as friends" I offer.
"I would love to" he says. "You have not been at that place to long right? I had not saw you at the salon before"
"Right, I have only been working there for a month now" I explain. "I was hoping to get back into nails. But nothing yet" I explain.
"You did a great job on my hair" he admits.
I grin. "Are you sure? You crashed your bike you were so horrified" I giggle.
"But it was short it and it was a shock for me. I could always grow it back if I wanted to do so" he reminds me. "everyone here loves what you did with it"
"Good, I am very glad you like it after all" I answer.
I did not want to over stay my welcome here. I get up.
"I better get going" I say.
"Are you sure?" he asks me.
I nod. "Yeah I have things to do at home. I have to cook dinner and some chores around my condo" I say.
"Oh if you have to. It was nice to talk to you" he says.
I find a pad of paper and a pen on the table there by the couch. I jot my number down. "If you want to hang out or talk here is my number. Call me any time" I offer.
"Thanks Skyler" he gratefully says.
"Your welcome Jesse" I answer.
I head to the door. He follows me.
"See you around" he tells me.
I nod then smile. To bad I had not met him before his girlfriend had. Oh well. No matter. There were other fish in the sea. I open the door and run into someone. A tall gentlemen with blond hair.

"Hi" he greets me. Another man comes in. I knew him.
"Danny Tanner? From that tv show? I watch you every morning!" I gush.
"Pleasure to meet a fan" Danny jokes as we shake hands. "Who is this vision of beauty?" jokes Danny.
"This is my hair dresser Skyler Reeves" Jesse introduces me.
"Hi" I say. I shake hands with the blond guy to.
"Wherever do you get your hair cut Jesse?" the blond guy jokes. I laugh.
"Don't tell them" warns Jesse.
"I won't" I laugh.
"My name is Joey Gladstone" Joey introduces himself.
"Pleasure to meet you both" I say. "Danny I watch you all the time. And that Rebecca Donaldson. You two are so funny"
"Rebecca is my girlfriend" Jesse informs me.
"Oh wow" I answer.
She was a stunning beauty. I was really not that stunning.
I was your average female.
"Well guys it was very nice to meet you. I better get going" I say.
"Come back any time" Danny tells me.
"Danny was my brother in law. You met my niece that was his daughter" Jesse explains. "I had moved in here when my sister died to help Danny out"
"Wow that has to be rough" I say softly.
"Jesse is great with my kids they love him" Danny praises Jesse.
"Well expect for the one that thinks she broke Jesse" jokes Joey.
They laugh.
"We will work it out" Jesse vows. "Stephanie will see she did not break me"
"Have a nice night guys. Bye!" I say as I see myself out.
I liked that bunch. They were great. To bad Jesse was taken and I could never be a part of such a lovely family. My family was not so close. We all lived in different states.
I had not heard from my sisters in decades. My parents were traveling the world in a little mini camper. They had always wanted to see all 50 states. Last I heard from them was when I got a post card at Christmas time from Colorado.
I wish my family was closer. I wish I had a real family like that. I sigh feeling bummed out. I doubted I would ever hear from Jesse again. I hop in my car and head home.
