KARIELLE
I walk out of the bathroom back to my bed in the pack hospital, everyone still staring at me due to my unprecedented change. I have to say this has been the most exciting thing to happen to me in all of my life, feeling like a completely different woman and all. I'm clueless on the reasoning for this, but I can take a wild guess that Celenara had something to do with it. I've even gained some weight, all while sleeping. Then it comes to mind, the item we had stolen a few days ago, the same day Luna Margaret had vanished. I look at Hera, and she nods, already knowing what I'm thinking. I need to tell Emile and Alpha Christian about what we found that belonged to the luna, belonged being a word I use loosely.
"Emile, Alpha Christian, I have something I need to talk to you about." I say nervously, not knowing how they will take my plight. They both give me their full attention, Emile moving to sit at the end of his father's bed. "While you guys were at the King and Queens Castle, I escaped with the help of Hera, and of course you, Emile." I started, and Alpha Christian looked astonished. "I'm really sorry about all of that Karielle, My wife never seemed to be the type of person that would pull any of the things she was doing to you, but she must have kept it well hidden from me. I know she had her issues, but I never expected it to be so bad." He apologizes to me, and I know it's not all his fault You truly never know someone, and that couldn't ring more true than what we're currently dealing with. "Well, we can get to that later. I found something you're going to want to see, and it's definitely no ashes of any loved one of Margaret's." They listen closely, waiting for me to reveal more. "Hera, do you have the box with you?" She pulls it out of her bag she was carrying as a crossbody. "Right here Love!" She threw it to me, and I caught it with instinct. "Good job Kari, reflexes better than a bear!" She giggles, always messing with me. I look to Emile and his dad. And show them the box before opening it. "What's in it Kari? Hera already told me that you guys found something, and that you were the only one able to find out what it was, How come?" Emile asks me, and I don't know the answer to the second part of his question. "I'm not quite sure yet, Emile, but Hera told me all about what we found inside." I proceed to touch the design that keeps the box locked, and it popped straight open for me a second time. I didn't let Emile or his father hold it, it would most likely not work for them either, the same way that it did nothing when Hera gave it her best. The scroll was visible now, and I go to take it out of the box to unravel it so they can see what it is in more detail. I sit the box on the tray table next to Christians bed, and hold up the opened scroll for both him and Emile to have a closer look. Alpha Christian looks at it and jumps, like he had just uncovered a bombshell. "Karielle, do you know what this is?!" He asks me, reaching for the scroll in my hands. He holds it up before me, and goes on to tell more. "This is what so many people have been pining for!" He yells in delight, and I got nervous for a second, but quickly put that emotion away as I didn't have any suspicion of Christian, he did stand up for me the times he caught his wife and her abuse. "Hera told me the story, I just truly don't understand what is so important about it, and why your wife has obviously been hiding it from you all this time, given she had you believe they were her mother's ashes. She likely wanted to keep you from snooping or questioning her." I add. He looks heartbroken for a second, but turns his face stoic just as readily. "I never thought she would ever keep anything from me, but I guess I was wrong." He says, looking down. "I wonder why she had it in the first place!." Hera shouts irritatedly. "All of you have heard about the war with the King and Queen with Sasha, I assume?" Christian looks to all of us expectedly, and we all shrug our shoulders. "We know about it, but that doesn't change why this stone is so important to people like Sasha and Margaret." Hera was as clueless as I am, maybe not as much, but you get the jist. "I know." Emile steps in "I'm sorry I haven't told you dad, but mom was planning to follow into Sasha's footsteps, except adding Karielle to the equation." Christian sighs sadly, but Emile continues "I know I should have told you, but mom threatened my life and yours had I ever mentioned it to anyone. I did tell Karielle about her plan to use her, but I felt I owed her that much after everything I've had a part in putting her through." Emile looks down, and his father pats him on the back of his shoulder. "You had to do what you had to do son, and you did the right thing." I could tell Emile felt better with his father saying that, at least it lifted a little guilt from his shoulders. I decide to chime in "Guys, we still haven't figured out what she wants with me, or with the fancy yellow stone." Everyone looks at eachother, not knowing what to think of it either. "We will just have to find out." Hera says to all of us. "She's right. We have to find out what Margaret is planning and where she went. I don't see her pulling off something like this by herself." Christian rubbed his chin, probably thinking of anywhere she could go. Before we could discuss further, a deafening sound wave hits us. We all look to the the back of the room behind us to the loud shatter of glass that just burst through the hospital room, a cloaked figure coming into the light. Our conversation was halted, and now our attention was directed to the unknown thing that just interrupted our planning, Will this s**t ever stop?! "What business do you have here, Vampire." Christian jumps up to face the dark winged figure that just barged in unannounced and unwelcomed. With a raise of the figure's hand, Christian is thrown so hard against the wall that he goes through it. Emile steps in, shifting to his wolf immediately. I've never seen Emile's wolf before, a beautiful mix of black with 2 tan brindle like spots, one on his right eye and one on his back. He goes for the neck of the vampire, Only to have his own neck grabbed between the vampires blade like claws, and thrown toward his father, the 2 colliding on the ground. Hera tries to go for the vampire next and I close my eyes and scream with all my might, tired of this already "Stoooooppppppp!" and everything goes quiet and completely still, its like the Earth tilted on an axis nd everything was going in slow motion. The vampire holds his ears painfully and goes flying back out the same window he just busted through moments ago. Thinking to myself that we need to capture him for more information, and to find out who sent him, I open my eyes to see 3 stunned people watching me, and the vampire had disappeared. "Where did he go? WHERE?" I yell, so angry I feel like I might burst. No one answers me right away, they just continue to stare at me, flabbergasted.
HERA
"Ka..Kari? What just happened?" I point to the shattered window, and Karielle looks back at it confused. "What ever do you mean? the bastard got away!" She replied, seemingly confused on what I'm getting at. "Kar..Karielle. You.. I.. you just made that vampire go flying." I stuttered, like the words are stuck in my throat. "Karielle, did you not feel that?! You had a.. a bright.. a bright light just shoot from your chest... that vampire.. he looked scared before he flew backwards." I said, and she just looks at me, like my words aren't resonating. She looks to Emile, and then to Christian, and back at the window. She runs over to it and bends over the base of the window, and looks down towards the lot of the hospital. "Hes... He's gone." Karielle cries. "He's gone!" Karielle looks back at me, a pleading look in her eyes. She looks to the tray next to Christian's bed. "And he took the scroll with him! That was our first clue! That f*****g bloodsucker!" Karielle starts panicking, trying to come to terms with everything that had just happened. I look back at her, and then face the other 2 starting to get back up from their fall. "The lege.. the legend is coming true."
