*11 YEARS LATER*
Karielle
I sat watching our warriors train, and learning to fight in human and wolf forms, the wolves in human form were fighting the beasts and vice versa. I'm gonna admit they seem to be pretty impressive, but I can't omit the fact that I remember seeing this somewhere. Life in this pack has been hell for me, being the servant of the Luna and all. She talks to me like I'm no different than the gunk on the bottom of her shoes. I question myself daily on what I did to deserve this, I am her daughter for Moon goddess sake. They call me illegitimate, only because she says my father betrayed her and left us when I was 5. I don't remember him, but I can
only go by what I'm told on that matter.
"Hey Kari, why don't you come and do your job and cook me some breakfast servant girl." Emile says, he is the legitimate son of the of the current Alpha and Luna, so he gets all the respect that comes with it, it really sucks that I can't have the same. Everyone knows how it goes though, since he's the next Alpha in line, he is gonna get the praise anyway, so I might as well just suck it up and deal with it until my situation can change, if it ever does. I get started right away on Emile's breakfast, as I know I'll be punished if I don't, I refuse to go back to that dreaded chamber. Last time I didn't get the Luna's dinner platter to her fast enough, because they did seem to time me. I was taken to that chamber and beaten with a spiked leash, and asked if I would ever be later than expected again, and with every lash I screamed that I would never disrespect them in that way as long as I lived. It has been the worst times of my life here, and I'm not even sure if most of the pack are aware or not as alot don't even know who I am or where I came from, Luna Margaret made sure of that. She was the most vile woman, and made me sick to my stomach to look at her with all the things she has done to me, afraid of it repeating itself. I just wish she would show care for me, even for a second, but I know that will never happen because I don't deserve it.
I spent my afternoon getting Luna Margaret's paperwork together, as she is due for a meeting in the Bloodstar pack, to see if her son can find his mate. I'm not sure anyone would willingly want to be Emile's mate if they knew the story behind his barbaric acts to me. I doubt anyone will find out though, they keep it hidden pretty well. Most people probably don't even know I exist, or my story within this pack, and I'm positive they will never know that I'm the Luna's daughter, she would never claim me. I was just the lowdown servant that answered to her family's every need.
"Hey Karielle, are you okay?" Hera said to me, as I'm sure she noticed my hesitation and rush. Hera was the only person here that I could call a friend. I met her on the training grounds the day that I first was able to watch our warriors train when I was 10 years old. She didn't judge me, even though she secretly knew the story behind me being here. She would never tell a soul anything that I confide in her about, and for that I am grateful and never want to lose her as my only friend. "Yes I'm fine Hera, just nervous about getting these papers together for the Luna's meeting. You know how she can be to me even if I'm on time, let alone any matter of seconds late." I pouted, but Hera saw straight through that. "Why don't you ever stand up for yourself Kari, I know it's hard but you let them treat you lower than an animal digging in the trash for food, do they even feed you?" Hera is upset for me, and wishes she could do more, but she knows that's impossible with my lords being the leaders of the pack. "You already know how that would go Rah, and I don't want to cause issues for anyone else. I would rather just take it, and when I turn 18 maybe I can find my mate and get away from here one day. I can only eat the scraps from the plates of pack members who didn't finish their plates, and honestly I'm humbled by any food at all, as I know they could starve me if they wanted to." I replied. Hera didn't take well to that, and I know she wishes she could do something about it, but with the the leaders being in charge of me, she knows she could be kicked out, or worse, killed in front of the whole pack for betrayal, and I will not put her in that position. "Kari, starting tomorrow I will make sure you have atleast Breakfast and dinner, I'll figure out somewhere to meet you, atleast let me do that." Hera was adamant about feeding me, because she couldn't see me lose so much weight any longer. I only weigh 94 pounds now, and I happen to know that because the Luna has me checked every once in awhile to make sure I am still able enough to serve her, heinous right? I know. I'm not even sure the Alpha knows the truth of where I come from, as Luna Margaret has kept this big secret I'm sure, to keep from being frowned upon. Werewolves aren't usually tolerable to someone committing these type of acts, unless a necessary reason, which she has none. She tells the pack that I came here on a work scholarship, and that I'm an immigrant from another pack, alot probably don't even know of my existence. She knows how to sugarcoat and create whatever she needs at the drop of a hat, and always gets away with it.
"If you really insist, can you just drop it in my closet while i'm not there, I'm usually allowed to go there twice a day, once in the morning and once at night for sleep, If thats what you can call it. Thank you though Hera, you have no idea how much this means to me." Karielle was in fear, but she is sure that Hera could pull this off, we just can't draw any attention or else her and myself will suffer the consequences. Karielle didn't get much sleep, as it was most likely only two hours, if that. She was awaken at the crack of dawn to help cook breakfast for the pack before training, and thats because the Luna was included as she would oversee the training each day, and If I gave her any trouble, I already knew the torture that I would endure.
"Karielle you stupid girl! You really thought that I wouldn't find out you spit in my son's food? how ignorant can you be! You're coming with me, and I don't want to hear a damn thing about it, you good for nothing dog." Oh lord, I'm in trouble now. I never spit in Emile's food, but he does these things on purpose because he loves to see me tortured, it's like he gets off on it and it's sickening. Oh well, I have to take my punishment anyways, No one is coming to save me. Once we get to the torture chamber, I'm shackled by silver chains with a leather strap adorned in silver to keep my legs and feet still. They are lifted off of the ground about 6inches, so my feet can't touch the floor, and Im dangling there just helpless. Kenny, one of the omegas, brings the torture tray filled with whips and tools of sorts to inflict pain on those that are brought here. I'm terrified, but I don't show it, they seem to enjoy it more when I'm scared. Emile joins his mother shortly after I am brought down here, and laughs at the site of me chained up in pain from the silver burning my skin. "Take her shirt off mother." Emile says to the Luna and she does as shes told. The Luna always succumbs to her precious sons wishes. Once my shirt is off I feel the first burning crack of the whip, which I can feel the silver spikes adorning my flesh. After about the tenth time that I am hit, I start to go numb. I can't feel the pain anymore. I have grown used to this as I am down here a quite a few times a week, and I can't seem to ever do anything right, not in their eyes. I'm not sure what gives them the right to do this, but I take it in stride knowing theres nothing I can do to stop it. Once the blood is pouring from my back and the whip marks are pronounced, I think Emile has finally had enough, until the Luna takes the final blow. I'm so exhausted and numb with pain, that I don't see the other figure walking into the room.
