One Step Closer

SEBASTIAN After the mind link went out about my pack being infiltrated, a lightning strike of pure iration went through me before I jumped up to rush out of my office. How dare these beings think they can come and destroy what's mine, that includes my pack members. They're apart of my family, and I'll be damned if I don't find out who allowed this to happen. Now that our daughter is close to becoming of age, it seems the eerie feeling of a random prediction all those years ago really is coming true as it is, and I know she's special. I felt it on that very day she was born, except we have no idea what that type of special entails. I run up to the first bloodsucker I find, grabbing him by his leg with my canines, he trips and falls on his back, not expecting to lose his footing. Being a lycanthorpe has its perks in the physical aspect, knowing that we're unmathed because our kind is few and far between. I heard the loud crack of the bone in his leg the harder I clamped down, him hissing at the contact. He tried to look me in the eyes, but before he could try any of his mind control s**t, I bark out a ball of white light, sending it straight into his face. He winced in agony, his face showing the slow movement of his skin melting off, before he disbursed into full blown ashes. With my first kill, they all started to come one behind another after watching me obliterate one of their own. The try to run at me, but with one distinguished howl, they all go up in flames. My sound vibration being at a higher frequency than they could handle, every single one near me perished. When I turn around to prepare for more, I hear Moira yell and take off towards the door inside the castle. They're going after the stone. I can't run after her as a group of 5 vampires catch me off guard, one of them getting a grip on me and tripping me to the ground. They couldn't go any further with their torment, a bright beaming gold light as bright as the sun directed at their bodies, disintegrating them into nothing. I look to see Alarah, and I silently thank her before she takes off the same way Moira had just rushed to moments ago. They can handle themselves Teb, my wolf, comes through my thoughts, knowing he was right, I went to finish what had been started. All of my warriors seem to be handling themselves, taking out the last two vampires before one suddenly spreads it's wings and flies toward the inside of the castle. Just as quickly as he went in, he came out with a woman on his back, carrying the velvet satchel the stone is safely kept in. Damn it! Too late I curse myself, before promising to avenge the betrayal bestowed upon my wife. I run to the castle door, Moira and Alarah running outside at the same time, us almost colliding with eachother. Moira looked sweaty, and mad. "Jenny. It was Jenny." She said in between breaths, not knowing I had witnessed that very woman flying out of the castle on that bloodsucker's back. "And they have the stone." I speak obviously, while Moira and Alarah both nod their heads. "I'm sorry!" Moira cries, I grab her into my arms and squeeze her into a hug, giving her as much comfort as I could. It's not her fault. I know she's hurt at her assistant, the only one to get as close to her, and then for that fake b***h to do this is just plain wrong. Alarah suddenly waves our attention, turning around to see a black figure walking up behind us. I get in position to defend my family, but he puts his hands up, as if to say there's no issue and to back down. We all watch as he slowly takes down his hood, revealing his bright blonde hair and red eyes with green speckles. He wasn't tan, but he wasn't pale either like normal vampires. There's something different about this one. "My name is Vlademir, is there somewhere we can discuss?" He asks, and I look to my wife and niece to gauge their reaction. They both look at me cautiously, but I indulge none the less. "This better be good. Follow me." I tell him, letting Moira and Alarah walk ahead of me to my office. We arrive, and the girls sit on the green lounge couch against the wall, symmetrical to my desk. Vlademir helps himself to my guest chair at the front of my desk, while I sit down in my office chair, hands entwined in front of me, my elbows atop my desk, wondering what he could want with us. Then he begins. "You see, Sebastian. I can help you in ways that no one else can." He starts out, and I give him a look, kind of surprised he knows my name but then again not, as most in the realm are aware of who I am. However, I don't remember ever encountering this creature, his scent differing slightly from that of a normal vamp. "And how would that be, bloodsucker?" I ask, wanting him to get straight to the point. "First, let me say I'm not quite what you would expect." He smirks. "I'm not a full blooded vampire, as I'm sure you can tell. However, I've been raised no differently in that aspect. As such happens, I am not much different than the likes of you." He spews, while I wait to see what he's getting at. "It is a disappointment that we cannot live freely in our realm when it comes to our love interests, you being the exception here, as you were brought together before the war you faced previously. You have the title of King and Queen, no one being able to take that away from you. My parents were killed before that war, to set an example on what happens when our species cross. My mother sent me with a friend before her and my father's death. As you see it, I am half wolf, half vampire, here to tell the tale." He finishes, shocking me to my core. There are currently no mixed species between vampires and wolves in all the realm, those who had both genes were killed at birth, never given a chance due to the ongoing controversary of each species being separated. "How did you survive?" I ask curious as to how he has managed so far. "The woman my mother trusted with me, kept me hidden all these years, only allowing me to come forth now that I can be of use. She helped hide my scent, only releasing me now for the time to come." I nod my head at his answer. "But who could have gotten away with helping you all this time?" I question, and he smiles. "The only one that could, well the white witch of course." He says, and my mouth drops. The white witch was apart of the council we had to keep the good faith between species in the realm. It was said she was murdered in the span of the war here. "So, you were helped by a woman presumed to be dead, then?" I wonder, not knowing how a woman could fake her death and keep a secret for so long without being discovered. "She has her ways. Now, on to the important topic." I nod my head for him to go on. "I can help you find your daughter, your majesty, but I will need something in return." He bargains. "What could I do to help you?" I ask, and he smiles back at me. "I'd like the realm to come forth in one piece, with no hate between species anymore. That way, a love like my mother and father's, could flourish without the hate or consequences of losing their children along with themselves as the cost.... Your daughter being the solution we need." He reveals, and I automatically shake my head at his request. "So you want me to sacrifice my own daughter, one we've been searching for all these years, before our chance at a real reunion?" I question, to make sure I'm understanding him fully. "No.. no not at all. It won't be a sacrifice, but a loan. She will be needed in the final war. She is more important than you would imagine in this quest." He says, giving me a little relief that he wasn't asking for my daughters life in return for others. "Maybe we could work something out. If I agree to this, you'll need to go with us along the way. I want to make sure my daughter is protected, and with you having the knowledge of survival all these years, she will need it applied to her training when we're able to bring her home." Moira interrupts, and I give her a side eye. No way does she think we're just going to offer up our daughter with no knowledge of the future, or what's going to happen. "Moira, are you insane?! Honey, you have no idea what we would be agreeing to. All he has said, is that she will be needed. We've been given little insight into what exactly her place will be in what war we are to face." I plead with her, before she looks to Vlademir for an explanation. "Your Majesties, please forgive my little attention to detail. You may not know this or understand, but your daughter is the key to the success of our realm. Without her, everything will be in shambles. What I'm trying to say is, your daughter is not only special. She is THE special. You see, it's not just us in danger, because she is too. She's the next chosen one." With his words, we all gasp, scared of what's to come for our girl. I stand up, walking directly in front of Vlademir as he sits. "Tell us where to find her."
