New Alpha in Town

DAXTON Today is my first meeting with King Sebastian and my pack since I arrived in town a little over a week ago. After 15 years, I've decided to come back here to where it all started and seek answers that I've been avoiding for the longest time. We've been getting settled in comfortably here in Crownsmere, and my Beta Axel has been a huge help in taking a lot off of my shoulders, he is my second in command for a reason. He's been dealing with all the paperwork and scheduling all meetings, on top of managing our multi-million dollar business, Lycorp, which is a new software specifically for werewolves to indulge in finding business partners that are other werewolves or creating a business bank account. That way we don't have to involve ourselves in human affairs and take any chances with outing our kind. We all know how werewolves can be brutal and not think with their brain when it comes to their aggression. We gotta keep our kind in the fictional books and movies of the human world for our sake. I have had so much running through my mind, I don't even know where I should begin, so I figured I'd start with the King and Queen. After all, the Queen's father and mother were the ones ruling in this town when the unthinkable happened. *15 YEARS EARLIER* I was but a child, and at 6 years old when I was made an orphan and an only child. When my mom and dad said they were going to take my newborn brother Rowan for a walk to calm him, I decided to stay back at the house with our nanny to study some more, I was going to be the next in line alpha of my dad's pack, Blackstorm. Studying was my life, I had so much to learn about being an Alpha before I could even look forward to training at 10 years old, and I couldn't wait. Fighting was my preorogative, as I was always testing the other pack members around us even though I got my ass kicked half the time, that didn't stop me from trying. I remember that night like it had just happened. "Dax, you gonna be be alright here while we're gone sweetie? I know you want to study, but I wanted to give you a chance to take a break if that's what you wanted." My mother, Anna asked me. "No mom, I'll be fine, go ahead and go on without me, I'll be just fine with Lucille(the nanny)." My mother and father had Rowan all bundled up in his stroller and ready to go. My mom kissed me on the cheek and told me she loved me and that they shouldn't be gone long, and my father, Collin, gave me a fist bump and pat on the back "We'll see you back here in a few son, I'm proud of all you're trying to accomplish." I bid them goodbye for the last time, not knowing it in that moment, and they treaded out the door for their, what was supposed to be, peaceful walk. The next thing I knew my father's pack guards burst through the back door of the packhouse screaming for my father's Beta, Allen. With all the loud howling and growls, I realized something was terribly wrong. I snuck out of my room and down the stairs, and peeked around the wall to our pack kitchen to see if I could hear anything of what was going on. I heard one of the guards yelling at Allen, telling him it's over and there's nothing that can be done. "Allen, they're gone. I found their bodies lying lifeless covered in blood by the first set of trees in the woods, next to the community park. Collin and Anna are dead, and from what I can gather, rogues killed them. We looked to see if we could find anyone near them, and when following the scent trail all we ran into was a trail of blood, indicating the baby may have been dragged off and killed also, but we weren't able to locate a body for him." Allen was devastated, he howled followed by the rest of the pack, and the howl was a painful howl, like when you're pouring your heart out and all you can feel is the tightness of your lungs, harder than ever to catch your breath, and overstricken grief. I gasped and right at that moment, Allen noticed me peaking around the corner, and it had just hit him that I heard their entire conversation. The moment he saw me, I took off running to my room and slammed the door and locked it. "Dax, let me in buddy, please. I need to see you right now. Dax! DAX!" I ignored his pounding fists on the door, and covered my face with my pillow and screamed as loud as I could. The tears started flowing, and all I could do is lay there, my body completely numb with no feeling. They were just here, fine and healthy. They were excited to take my brother on his daily walk, and now they're all gone. It finally hits me, I'm all alone. They're gone! And my brother, oh my sweet baby brother. He didn't even know the meaning of life yet, new to the world and was completely innocent. I wish I would have just taken a break from these stupid Alpha courses and went with them, maybe things would be different. Rowan had no chance against those bloody attackers, but without locating his body, I had to keep hope that he may be out there somewhere. I finally opened my door, and Allen grabbed me and squeezed me in his arms, all he kept repeating was that he was sorry, but he knows it's not his fault. It was the murderous rogues that can't keep their claws to themselves, and we promised revenge. We ended up moving away to another town until things died down, and so we could properly grieve until we figured out what comes after this whole ordeal. We took my mother and father's body with us, and had their funeral, we had them buried on our new pack lands, and not back in the town that afforded their murder. After their funeral, I made a promise to my family that I would study and train harder than I ever had, and I would make them proud of me. I meant it. One day while training with Allen, I shifted. It was really unexpected, since most werewolves won't shift or even know their wolves until their 18th birthday, but not me. I was special. My wolf, Drex, told me that I had a destiny to fulfill, but he couldn't tell me what. That day will come when it's meant to, and that'tll be when it all makes sense. I wasn't a werewolf anymore, I was a Lycan.. A beautiful metallic silver furred Lycan. Drex said that we were a rare sight, and when Allen got a look at me that day, his mouth was on the floor. "Dax, do you know what you are? Goddess, you are a beautiful sight to behold. No one has seen one of you in over a century! This is crazy!!" I smiled with my pearly white fangs, and mind linked him while in Lycan form "Maybe everything happens for a reason, and one day, we'll know what that reason is." CURRENT I walked out of my office, and hollered back at Axel that if anything comes up to handle it because I have to get a shower and get ready for our long awaited meeting. "Hey Dax, you alright in there?" Axel knocks on the door to my room, I have been in here for quite awhile, and I didn't want to worry him. He knows my mental state since being back here, knowing I havent been back since that night. I met Axel in our new town, he was also an orphan with his parents also being killed by feral rogues. We welcomed him into our pack, he became like a brother to me, and the rest is history. "Yeah I'm fine dude, Just trying to gather myself. You know I have a lot to think about. We have so much to uncover if we want to find out the truth behind my parents and brother's murder." I replied, and he sighed deeply. "I know brother, but we will all work with you to figure this out, no matter how long it takes. You know we're all here for you, and Allen wants answers too, you know your dad was like a little brother to him, and I bet he's willing to work just as hard with you." Yes, Allen is still with us to this day. He also promised to help figure out the truth, and made a to the moon goddess that he would take care of me and train me to my fullest potential. I don't think he realized how powerful I would be. In this town, the King might be number 1, but I surpass even his strength and power, although he doesn't know that, along with everyone else in this town. "I'll be out in about 15 minutes, have our car ready at the doors, I just have to get dressed and I'll be ready to go." I shouted through the door. I heard him leave my room to go and get things situated. I hop out of the shower and my clothes are already laid out on on the bed. Axel must have prepared this for me, he's always been there when I need him most, and I'm sure he knows how my head is drowning right now, so he decided to take the stress of me looking through my closet, and picked something for me. He does know my style anyway, which I appreciate. On the bed lay a slate gray Cristian Dior suit, with a white button up underneath and slate grey slacks to match. He picked out the white penny loafers to go with the button up, and I can't help but be impressed at his selections. I hurried and threw them on, then went to look in the bathroom mirror to comb my dark brown hair. I stare at myself for a second, trying to hype myself up to get rid of the wary feeling I have. I stare into my own grey eyes, with my combover looking perfectly polished. I tell myself this is it, this is what weve been waiting for, a chance to find out what happened all those years ago. Axel appears back at my door, and lets me know that the car is waiting out front. I open my door and take the lead down the spiral steel lined stairs to my double steel doors that lead to our front driveway. We make our way to the Silver escalade and jump in, one on each side, and make the drive to the Bloodstar pack, one hour away. We arrive to their guard cabin, and they let us on through. When we arrive out front of the brick stairs that lead to the double wooden doors, there are omegas ready to greet us and take us where we need to go. We get out and follow them in, and we're toldeimajesties were waiting for us right inside. We arrive through the doors, the King and Queen standing right in front of us. I bow, along with my Beta "Greetings your majesties, thank you for your hospitality in welcoming us to Crownsmere. We couldn't be more grateful, and I'm sure we have alot to discuss." I render to King Sebastian. "No problem at all son, we're glad to have you here. We only have a few more minutes, as we're waiting for our other guests to arrive." Other guests? We weren't informed of expecting any other guests. We wait inside the doors, and are able to see out the double window panels on each side of the door, a shiny black Mercedes SUV pulls up out front, and we see the people stepping out of the car. A woman and what seems to be her husband step out first, and then, another man, familiar to my body, makes his way up the brick stairs, and my heart sinks to the pit of my stomach. I think I'm going to be sick.
