POV: Jasper
I quickly made my way out of the mansion. It has many winding hallways and secret doors.
Leave it to witches to make even housing complicated. The first 5 times I had been in the house I had nearly gotten lost. If not for my heightened senses due to being a shifter I would have definitely been lost.
I followed my own scent to the back door, and stepped out towards the forest.
I got just into the treeline and began to undress so I could change without destroying all my clothes.
I felt the change come over me quickly. in less than 10 seconds I went from a man to a wolf. My wolf form was Giant, my furnwas all back, with matching black eyes. Perfect to blend into the night.
As I began to step towards the direction I needed to go I heard the backdoor of the house I had just left slam shut.
Elizabeth was running towards the woods, almost right at me. I quickly hid myself from view, not that she would have noticed in her state. She was crying as she ran.
I followed her to make sure she would be ok in the woods, if she died out here the whole plan to end this war would be over. And I really didn't want to keep fighting.
She ran quite fast for a human.
She isn't human. She's a witch.
My wolf told me.
before I could reply to my wolf her leg caught on a peice of root sticking out of the ground. Without grace she fell to the ground and screamed.
It was a deep painful scream. Obviously the meeting had effected her much more than she had let on while I was there.
Suddenly I felt the ground shake and from her a great surge of power radiated out. I quickly jumped back and just in time too.
Ice and raw power begin to explode from her. She had definitely lost control. I watched from a safe distance as the power continued to flow from her.
I began to remember one of the first meetings I had ever had with Aurora
Aurora showed me to the hall of the eyes, as they called it.
The door to the room was large, black and had many intricate carvings. It was a woman holding up the moon in her outstretched arms. She was surrounded with trees.
I felt the magic flow from Aurora and the doors effortlessly and silently swung open.
Inside the room the walls were filled with books.
Aurora walked down the wall, one finger touching the books as she passed. "These are all the prophecies our seers have had. Many are about our destined matches assigned by the moon goddess. But some are about things like the war. here is what we you asked to see" she said this pulling out a blue leather bound book with an indent of a sword and a wolf on it.
She opened the book to a page and let me read.
"And In the one hundredth year of the war, on the anniversary of the beginning, the witch of whose power is undoubtedly the strongest of all shall call to end the war. Witches and wolves alike shall drop their weapons and with her final word the war will end."
"that's rather.... vauge" I mulled outloud.
"Well much can be interpreted, yes. I am the witch it talkes of. As ruler of this coven and high Priestess I have many powers the other witches do not have. All witches are tested at 17, and our elders determined me to be the most powerful witch to have been born in 3 centuries.
I was pulled out of my memory as the power around me began to fade. Elizabeth fell to the ground, unconscious.
I carefully went to her, to insure she was ok. She was still breathing and her heartbeat was strong and steady.
I turned back to human and quickly got dressed. I carefully picked her up and ran back towards her house. I set her down just inside the tree line by her house. she would wake soon.
I changed back and began to run at full speed back to my land. As I ran I couldn't get the image of what she had done to the forest out of my head. The raw power she possessed was alarming.
As I ran I couldn't help but to think, maybe her mother and the elders had made a mistake.
Elizabeth is the girl in the prophecy
I ignored my wolf, be was right. I wondered how Elizabeth had hid her power while she was evaluated, and why she would want to.....
