Chapter 2: The Lunas Plan

“Holy s**t, is this for real?” Asked Michael

Reign once again pushing forward.. “Yes, Kari believes it’s now. Mira will be 35 in exactly 2 weeks. She has to be on pack lands for the transformation to be complete. The moon goddess will bestow all the powers needed for Mira to take her rightful place as Queen. She will no longer be the disgraced Luna accused and framed for murder. But in order for her to take over the throne she needs all her powers to succeed as well as her husband and children as there will be a war.”

“A war? Why Reign?…wait wait wait, QUEEN? Did you say Queen? As in Queen of the werewolves?!”Screeched Derek.

Reign huffed, “Yes Queen. Mira and myself are the moon goddess’s vessel here in this realm. She is the Moon Goddess true daughter but evil forces decided to intervene. When the war broke out 35 years ago, the Queen was pregnant with Mira. The king and queen were waiting for her arrival when an evil rogue king and his army of wolves attacked the castle. The king left to defend his people and protect the queen as she labored over their child. As she pushed her last push, the King was killed..

The queen felt the bond break but she was too weak to survive due to the blood loss from labor and she died shortly after…

However right before she passed, she held Mira in her arms kissed her and passed her to Kari..with strict instructions.”

Silence fell, I sat still looking at Derek and Michael from Reigns perspective.

Michael cleared his throat before saying “Mira is not an abandoned child that Kari found then?”

Reign shook our head, “No she is not, we could not tell her anything about who or where she came from. She had to stay hidden. The last time the moon goddess blessed a wolf, she was murdered at 21 when her powers were just given to her. We were too naive and trusting of those around us…innocent and vulnerable. We failed..I failed. But the Moon Goddess gave me another chance to bring balance back to this realm.

I am sorry I lied to you Mira, but Kari and I had to protect you. You had to go through everything you went through just to strengthen you for when the time had come. I will not hide anything from you any longer.”

I could only sit and shake my head up and down. I couldn’t believe it. Queen? True daughter? Wait a second my husband and children?

“Woah woah woah reign! Why are Finnick and the children needed? Finnick has betrayed the bond more than once, and the children..my children do not want anything to do with me. I have been planning on going back to take what’s rightfully mine. A divorce, my name cleared of charges and my money that I am entitled too. I made Finnicks Pack strong with the alliances I brought to his door step, the funding for the pack’s needs. I gave him not one but two heirs.” I stated with anger.

“They make you stronger and complete you. They were set up just as you were. You will need them. Especially the children. They are the heirs of the kingdom. A prince and princess in their own right. While I am not happy with Finnick, I understood where this has all come from. It does not mean I am ready to forgive and jump back in his bed but if I need help to restore you back to your place then so be it.”

Fine I will not argue anymore. However

Do you have a plan? How are we going to avoid being arrested and detained by Finnicks pack?

Oh not to worry. We are going to the Dusty Moons Mating Masquerade Ball for the Twins but we will need Michael and Dereks allegiance. We are going to arrive exactly two weeks before the ball. A grand entrance. But Michael is not just a warrior but a Guardian Warrior as well. So we will be okay. They won’t be able to harm us with a a guardian warrior.Are you not one Michael?

Silence filled the air after Reign questioned him. Shock was very apparent on his, Derek’s and my own face. Shock for Derek because he like myself did not know that Michael was a Guardian Warrior. Shock on Michaels face because he thought his secret was well a secret. But Considering Reign being who she is and who I am, it’s honestly no surprise that she knew who and what he was.

“How did you know? No when did you know?” He asked quietly.

I’ve know since the 1st day. Mother sent me a dream of your faces and who I could trust until it was time to return. But I was instructed not to say anything as it could tip the balance the other way.

“Typical mother..” signed Michael.

“Wait wait wait, now hold the hell up. How are you a guardian but I do not know? We are Mates! Mates! I am your other half. I am supposed to know everything. No secrets.”- Derek said angrily.

“It is not his fault Derek. Mother does not allow us to share anything until our mission is close to being accomplished or until it’s a need to know thing. We can not share anything with anyone no matter if they are mates are not. Guardians are given their memories at the age of 21 from their life before, but they are suppressed to the point that we only get bits and pieces at a time for safety.”-Reign said softly,

Derek looked at me and then Michael..taking in what Reign said. Trying to decide to be angry or just let it go. But before he could decide anything else, Reign spoke up once more , “Derek, Michael needs you and so does Mira. This course is yours just as much. But in order for us to succeed Michael needs you and Mira needs both of you. Your fates are intertwined with hers.”

He sighed deeply at that and drew a deep breath before saying “Fine. But no more secrets just tell me , it’s a need to know basis if I don’t need to know.”

“Deal..” smiled Michael.

I smiled and watched them hug it out. I mean I knew where Derek was coming from. I’ve been kept out of the loop for almost 35 years and it’s my life…being kept in the dark. He has a right to be angry but so did I.

“Stop it Mira. Mother had her reasons to protect you. She didn’t want to lose another daughter. She has planned this all so you could be safe.”Reign spoke angrily at me in my mind.

Jeez alright alright I said. Before I could say more, Derek posed a question I didn’t get an answer too From earlier…

“How will we get in to the ball?”

Michael answered “Kari will have secured 3 invitations and sent them. They should be attached in the sealed envelope. That is the easy part. The part we have to worry about is our reception at the border pack lands. If Finnick will be forgiving or will there be hatred. I won’t let them harm any of us but it can go either way. We just have to be ready. They can not touch Mira regardless, the minute she touches the pack lands her powers will start to arrive. She won’t know how to use them but her strength alone will prevent anyone from hurting her.Silver and Wolfsbane have no effect on her either.”

“Great just great,”I thought to myself as I nodded subtly to Michael.

I couldn’t help but feel anxious and afraid of what was to come but reign said the moon goddess has thought of everything. It’s just seeing my children and husband that has me on edge, their hate towards me was apparent the last time we saw each other. And then these powers that I have no control over. No idea what I will gain.
