Chapter 5: The Disbelief

Finnicks POV

I stared at Mira. I drank in her face and her voice. I couldn’t believe my eyes that she was here. She didn’t look like she aged anything but something was different about her. Her voice was soft but strong still yet it held a certain degree of Steele to it. I watched as she graciously shut down Ava. I watched as she used her Aura and made her submit. I watched Ava cry and look to me for help but she would get none from me.

I listened as she called me the Alpha or human to Osiris with a certain level of disdain in the words.

I can say I was in shock still that when she spoke to me, I couldn’t answer her when she asked if we were going to fight to the death.

It wasn’t until Lucian made his presence known again by clearing his throat and answered her for me that I came to my senses.

“Luna, you will not be killed. I can promise that. In fact your return has been long awaited by the alpha, your children and the pack. Please return to the vehicle and we can head to the pack house to discuss matters.” His voice filled with authority and promise.

Mira snorted and shook her head. “No Lucian I need to hear it from him. While I hold respect for you and believe you. I do not trust your Alpha. As it was he, who slapped me and locked me up without waiting for evidence before deciding his wife and mate of 13 years was guilty of the slaughter of the previous alpha and luna. He that turned my children against me.”

I paled at her words, as I knew they held the truth and I felt guilt eat away at my heart. I looked at her and said “Mira..I..words cannot convey how..yes you will not be harmed and there will be no fight to the death. Lucian speaks the truth and I give my word as Alpha.”

She looked at me and said “Frankly Finnick, your word as Alpha means s**t, given the past. But it’s the best that I will take until proven otherwise.” With those words she signaled to her body guard and got in the car. Not before turning to me and saying “We do not need to be escorted. I know the way.”

I watched her get in and they drove off towards the pack house.

Lucian strolled up to me and said “The Disbelief on your face! It’s like you were a teenager asking her out on a 1st date again. Stuttering like a fool.”

I punched him in the shoulder and said “Did you have the omegas prepare rooms and have dinner set up? And the twins, do they know?”

“Yes to everything but the Twins. Jonah’s is with Naomi in the library and Noah was out at the lake with some friends, I feel it was best if you called them home.” He stated.

I nodded and told him to swing by the lake to request Noah’s Presence. I told him I would stop by the library and get Naomi and Jonah’s.

We shifted and took off.

Mira’s POV

The moment I got in the SUV, I sighed and sagged my shoulders. Finnick,his presence alone, drove my heart insane. But I was not ready to give it back to him. Not that he was asking but my goodness. He made me feel like a teenager again just by staring at me.

Derek broke the silence “Well that was intense. Seems he effected you as you did to him.”

Michael nodded and I looked at him. “Before I step off this vehicle. Reign and I wanted to ask you both something..”

Michael smiled at me “Yes your majesty, we would be honored.”

“What do you mean? I haven’t even brought it up.” I asked confused.

Derek giggled and said “Reign asked our wolves who in turn told us rather asked us how we would feel? Michael is correct. We would be honored to be your Betas. Michael as the Beta and I as the Betas Mate.”

Reign giggled in my head. “Sorry Mira. I needed to be sure as Axel is a Guardian Warrior. While his human is dedicated his counterpart still a different being who has to be sure. However Axel and Domino are honored.”

Oh okay well that makes sense. Reign nodded . I asked her “Question, is that how you were able to communicate with their wolves because Michael is a Guardian without doing the bonding ceremony?” She nodded again and said “Are you ready? The moment we step onto the ground, you will feel a surge of power course through our body and it will be painful. I need you to be prepared.”

Yes I am I told her. “Reign will the children and Finnick feel the same thing?”

“It’s possible but because your bond is weak with all of them it may not happen to them just yet. However if it does it will be just as painful.”

I looked at Michael and Derek as we followed the path to the packhouse. “Reign said That we are able to communicate without the bonding ceremony because of your wolf Michael. And she said the moment I step down, I will feel a surge of power course through me. And thank you both for agreeing to be my Betas. I would not have it any other way.”

Derek smiled softly and slowly pulled up to the house.

The house was different. Upgraded. It looked like Finnick added balconies to the rooms. Painted the bricks and added a porch with swings to surround the front. The new windows and a beautiful mahogany front door with stained glass. He did well. Really well.

I looked around before I stepped down. I wasn’t sure if I could handle the power I didn’t want to draw unnecessary attention more than I already have. The coast was clear Finnick and Lucian were not here yet.

I slowly descended the vehicle and I stepped on the ground. My feet barely touched the ground when I felt this power surge through my body and lift me off the ground. I felt a stinging pain on my wrist as I looked down and saw a crown and moon imprint itself on my wrist. The same pain on my forehead. It was agonizingly surreal. I tried to mindlink Reign but I could feel her closed off trying to adjust to the power. As quickly as it came on it finished. And I sank onto the ground. My Energy was diminished, but I felt complete as though I was missing something this who time. I then felt Michael on my left side and lift me up.

I looked at him and he had surprise written on his face. “What’s wrong Michael?”

Derek answered before he could “You have a moon tattooed on your forehead as well as a moon and crown on your wrist.”

“My fore—,” I was cut off when I heard 3 different set of howls in pain coming from 2 different directions.

I staggered upwards and felt my heart beat with a sharp pain and I looked at them “Its Finnick and the Children.” I whispered worriedly..

But before I could say anything else. I fainted and saw black.
