Elena's POV
Now do not get me wrong. My mother and I would not know the first thing about a proper mother daughter relationship if it were printed on a billboard and dropped right in front of us. But there was something about last night that had me staring at the ceiling, thinking about all the times I had watched business associates quiver in my mother's presence.
I had always thought of how cruel she was. How inhumane it was for a woman to be that fierce. But for a brief moment I felt something close to motivation having witnessed it, even in those small doses she had always given me.
The next morning I knew exactly what had to be done. Who needed to be where. What needed to happen. And it all started with a quick visit to the hospital.
