The New Pup's First Year

Today is the day for the 4 new pup's first birthday party back at home since they were sent to school for higher-ranked pups to learn their position. It is so hard to believe that they are 16 now. It seems like yesterday that they were born and came home from the hospital and then slept in their rooms but with their siblings. We will go in and check on them and they will be in the bed with their siblings to be close to them. The doctor said that is perfectly normal for them to do at this age. They do it as a security thing. William and I got up extra early so that we could go down and make sure that everything was the way it was supposed to be and how it was looking. We hadn't seen it since yesterday when the omegas finished putting up the decorations and getting all of the last-minute stuff in place for the party.

We walked into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of juice and glasses then walked out to the backyard to see the progress on the games and the petting zoo we got everything set up so that it was age-appropriate for the children and the older kids and even the adults have an area for them to have some time to relax and just hang out with other adults. Everything was set up according to plan and the day was going also according to plan.

William and I were walking back into the house to go up the stairs when I heard a voice and turned to see what the voice was I saw my mother, Cheryl, Williams, and my father coming into the house. Cheryl walked to the stairs that William and I had started to walk up. I saw our fathers walking to the backyard with the presents for the pups. I recognized the bags they had with them they went to the boutique and the toy store. She asked William and me if she and our dads could get all the kids ready for breakfast and the party and just hang out with them for a while so that William and I could go for a run and just spend time with one another, just the two of us.

William looked at me and said I think that would be a great idea I agreed with him and we both nodded our heads and said that it was a good idea for her and our fathers to bond with the pups. So William and I went for our run to a little creek that ran about 25 yards from the packhouse. While on our run we just enjoyed each other's company and just enjoyed being in our wolves. When we got to the creek we just sat in silence feeling the breeze in our fur and trying to get back in touch with our wolves and one another since the newest pups were born we have not gotten to spend much time together. We sat there for a few minutes and enjoyed the view and watching the wildlife.

While we were on our way back to the house I mind-linked Cheryl and told her that we were on our way back and asked how the children were doing she linked me back and said that they were up dressed and finishing their breakfast and that George and my dad were going to go to the barn with the older kids to help feed the horses and their ponies. I told her that was awesome and that they would like that. When we got back to the house we went up to our room and got ready after saying hi to all the pups and happy birthday to the younger ones.

The outfit that Cheryl put out for me was a dark blue sundress and blue Roman thongs. William had shorts and a polo shirt suit with all the pups’ favorite colors on it. While we were getting dressed I kept getting the feeling that something was going to happen and it was going to be a good thing. He asked me what I meant and I told him that I wasn't sure but it was going to be a very interesting day and that I was glad that I got to spend this day with him and our 8 amazing children and our wonderful family. After William and I got dressed we went back to the backyard and started talking with the newcomers and just hanging out with the children and the other parents.

At about 4 o'clock Jamie and Kim came over to William and me and said that it was time for the cake, ice cream then presents as we were walking over to the spot don't the porch with the four high chairs set up. William, Jamie, Kim, and I each had one of the children in their chairs. I realized that each one had their favorite color icing on their cakes and they were in the shape of the kid’s favorite animals. Fayer had a cake in the shape of a wolf and the icing was a magenta color. Blaze had a cake in the shape of a horse with orange icing. Mistyanne had a cake in the shape of a wolf with yellow icing. Vilkas had a cake in the shape of a horse and it had green icing on it. Right after we put them in their chairs they dug into their cakes and they had it all over them and the ground.

William and I thought that it was a very good idea that we put the chairs where we did and that it would be really easy to clean off the icing from the porch. After we got the pups cleaned up and changed back into their outfits we started doing presents. The pups got a lot of clothes and they got a bunch of toys. William and I took them to the barn and they got to pick out their ponies. Fayer picked out a black pony with a White Stripe (blaze) down the center of her face. She had three white feet. Her name was Beauty. Blaze found a chestnut pony with a star on his forehead. His name was Little Red. He had four white feet just like my White Wall Crown. I automatically thought that he might be one of his sons but then I dismissed the idea. Mistyanne went to a pony that was a Rone and her name was Brownie. She had four small white feet. Vilkas got a pony that was a buckskin and he had a white patch on the center of his chest and four black socks.

Grandpa Dale and George came into the barn and asked if they could start riding lessons with the pups starting tomorrow. I looked at the children and they said that they wanted to so William and I agreed to allow them to start the next day. We played with the other animals and danced and had a great time then at about 7 or 8 the children started getting tired so we started winding everything down to get the kids ready for bed.

Right after we got all the pups to bed some of the adults from our pack and our friends from the Dark Moon Pack, Jamie and Kim came up to me with two males following close behind them. Both of the males had big scowls on their faces and kept watching every little movement from the girls and everyone around them. Jamie told me that she and Kim had found their mates in the two of the men right behind them and both of the guys started to smile and I felt all the love that the two of them had for Jamie and Kim. I was so happy for them and their mates Brian walked over about the time I asked the one question that had been weighing on my mind since they had come to William and me. I asked how Andrew and Wade met the girls the four of them looked at each other and so did Brian they looked back at me and then told me that the guys had a feeling that they were the girls' mates when they were young but just had to wait till they gained their wolf counterparts.

I told William, Jamie, Wade, Kim, Andrew, and Brian to go to my office for a meeting to get the planning underway. When we all got to my office I asked the girls if they wanted to have a double ceremony or two singles. I thought they would like to do everything together anyway. Jamie and Kim looked to their mates and they held their hands up in the air and told the three of us that we should work on the plans that they knew better than to interfere with any plans and that they had watched most of the women in their pack make most of the plans for parties and stuff so they wouldn't even know how to answer most of the questions that would need answering for everything. William suggested that we involve his mom Cheryl. I thought was a great idea and asked him to call her and see if she would like to help. He said that he would mind-link her then he and all the guys left I wondered where they were going then I remembered that night checks needed to be done still.

Jamie and Kim decided to do a double ceremony. I knew that Alpha Brain and the Dark Moon Pack were hosting the harvest festival the following month and had invited our pack to attend to see if any more of our pack members could meet their mates. I told Jamie and Kim about this and they agreed that we should do their ceremony the month after. They wanted me to make sure that it sounded good to the guys so I mind-linked them and asked each one if that part was acceptable or not and they all were delighted to have it so close to the festival.

Meanwhile back in my office.....

Jamie and Kim were arguing about who should wear this color and who was going to get to wear their mother's dress. I had to use my Alpha voice to get them to calm down so that we could talk and get these plans in order. I had asked Jamie if she wanted to wear my dress since she and I were always closer than Kim and I were. I suggested that Kim could either wear their mother's dress or we could ask Cheryl if she would be willing to make her one.

About that time there was a knock on the door and when it opened it was Cheryl. As she was walking in she gave the three of us each a hug and told Jamie and Kim how proud of them she was for finding their mates. Jamie asked me if I was going to be mad if she asked Cheryl to make her dress as well. I asked why she thought I would be mad at her for wanting her to dress in something unique to her she said that she wanted to at first but then decided to see about getting one made. Cheryl told me that she made both of my dresses and I just looked at her and told her that I didn't know that. So I asked her if she would be willing to make Jamie and Kim's dresses for them.

She asked me how much time would she have to get them done and I told her about two months because Alpha Brian was hosting the harvest festival next month and then we were planning on the following month on the full moon. She thought for a minute and told us that she could get them done on time and the girls were beyond excited. While the four of us were making other plans for the next month and the following month we heard a bunch of little knocks on the door. Jamie walked over to the door and there stood they were. I told them that they could come in and help with any ideas if they had any. All eight of them came running into the room and made their way to all of us giving us all their love. The four youngest pups came to sit with Cheryl and me. Once we were all settled down we could get the planning back on track. Cheryl told me that she was going to make me a dress as well for the occasion and she was going to make me a dress for the festival. One of the questions we had to get in order was the colors that they wanted Jamie wanted black and white, while Kim wanted blue and white. Cheryl took their measurements and had to get mine since I was going to be a part of the ceremony and she didn't want me to wear some everyday dress and neither did the girls.

About the time Cheryl got done doing my measurements, we got a mind-link about warriors at the gate and told everyone to stay in my office and stay hidden all eight children ran to me and started crying and hanging on to me not wanting me to leave the room. Tasks to Cheryl she was able to get them to calm down and come over to her and sit on the couches with her Jamie, and Kim. As I walked out of the office I saw all four men running for the door so I ran to them. When I got there I looked at Brian, Wade, and Andrew to ask "Do the three of you know what this is about?" They answered no they didn't and they were calling for backup just in case. I told the three of them that I appreciated all that they were doing and had done so far. Then I looked at Wade and Andrew and asked if that meant they were going to be joining our pack. They replied that they were going to talk with Jamie and Kim to see what they wanted to do. Of course, I was happy with that answer.

Right after we got out of the door one of our warriors said they wanted to talk to William Brian and me only, I told Wade and Andrew to go back in and keep everyone safe in there just in case it came to a fight. They nodded and walked back in. Once the door was closed we walked down the lane to the border I linked some of the warriors and told them to go do a perimeter check and make sure no others were looking for a way in. About five minutes later I got a link back telling us all clear in all directions. As the three of us got closer we started to smell something unlike I had ever smelled before but I knew that it was not any of the members from our pack or Brian's so it had to be rouges.

The three of us stopped at the border and I spoke first and told them we knew they were there and they were the ones that wanted to talk to us so they needed to come and say what they wanted one rouge came forward and told us that they wanted to be granted permission to join in the festivities or our ritual and ceremony he even put out that the rouges have a ceremony but this particular set of rouges wanted to join a pack even though they have never been part of a pack before in their lives they are usually born and their parents are just wonders. I looked at Brian and William and they just shook their heads so I turned back to the rouges and told them that we would have to discuss this and we would get back to them the next day. The rouges shook their heads and we turned to walk back to the house as we were walking we were talking about the possibility of these rouges joining actual packs. I had mind-linked everyone and told them what was going on so that no one would be worried any more than they already were. When we got back to the house we called all the packs that were going to be in attendance and let them know what was going on they agreed to allow the rouges to participate but just one time and we agreed to that as we didn't want rouges trying to overrun our packs.

The next day William, Brian, and I went back to the rouges and told them that we thought it best that they stick to their traditions and we stick to ours, but we would make an exception for just this year and they agreed to the terms of the day. They will join the packs in which they find a mate if there is one for them if not they will continue with their traditions. They asked how they would know when and where to go to the party. I told them that it was one month from now at the Dark Moon Pack. They shook their heads and left.
