CHAPTER FIFTEEN USS Halibut – Periscope Depth As Neil brought us up, the Halibut began to rock big time. By the time we hit 100 feet, we were taking thirty degree rolls. I could hear things falling everywhere – cups, saucers, dishes, eating utensils, tools, books, charts, you name it. That’s a problem on a sub. When you are taking it easy for a while – like we were for the past several weeks – people forget that subs move…in all dimensions. Control was a mess – cups, charts, pencils, s**t galore.
